It's kind of hit and miss each year at that time. This year you may be in luck but right now it's real thin. Storms better pick up or you won't be riding. But I've never been unable to ride by Xmas up there. Rabbit Ears pass is your best option from the Kremmling area. You can stay in Kremmling or stay in Steamboat if you wanna be closer. Rabbit Ears Motel is reasonable.
