That was Staker that was the day I was telling you about tonight at Dunners...There were no pics of me, I dont like drops:face-icon-small-dis

Dave was not like a rockstar, he was better in life. Most rockstars or celebrities seem to get better after they die. Dale Earnhardt is a perfedt example. Youd be hard pressed to find 2 drivers that had anything good to say about him, he gets killed and all of a sudden he is a saint. dave was no saint but he sure was a good friend and a what you see is what you get kind of guy. He defined a 'mans man", and what is so cool about this bad situation is the character Dave has is shared by many who did and dint no him. I was with a couple of the "mafia" boys last night & I can tell ya this is a tight nit group, this goes WAY beyond sledding Iand really belive Dave has something to do with this "path" we are all on. Its not just the Ut. guys either, I got a couple of "spud brothers" (you guys know who ya are and your a little behind in ur friendship dues:face-icon-small-win)....Well Im rambling when I should be riding dam weather...To sum it up in life Dave was as good as they get, but there are still a BUNCH of good guys & girls left. I would encorage all to get to know those folks behind the keyboards where you live, these nut jobs here in Ut. and a few others have become dear friends of mine. I dont know what it is about this sport that draws such good down to earth folks, but it sure seems to produce mostly keepers. Well sorry for the babble in Jesus name amen.

Kev.....you're a stud! But, can you end your paragraph like that without getting struck by lightning, or going to hell? ;) Oh well....don't worry....we'll have fun down there!

Kev was definetly channeling Dave with that letter. ;)

and wtf? Mafia boys together last night and no call? you eat in the garage next time... all of you!

see ya in he11. I'll leave a light on. :face-icon-small-hap

great thread, Thanks again Kim for all you you do! I havent been around here at all as of late (no sled, staying away makes it easier) I know for sure Julie and I are in on the funds for Carolyn and the girls. If the date is Dec. 10th, looks like I will be in town, and we will be there! Keep me in the loop. Thanks

Pete.....great to see you back around here! You know you've got a sled anytime you can break away to ride! :) Sure hope you can make dinner on the 10th!

well sorry for the babble in Jesus name amen.

Are you serious Sal? I haven't heard from you in a couple days. Are you still alive? Hopefully the lightning didn't get you. Sometime remind me to tell you that story!!! That is the funniest thing I have read in a LONG time!!!!

Kim,

I don't know how to say this so it comes out sounding right.

But I wish Caroline and the girls and Happy X-mas

My prays go out to them

Thanks again Sunridge Sledhead

John....good to see you around! Thanks for the kind words! Knowing Dave, you know he's got a big smile over us helping out his girls...

I remember handing out in Sledjunky's garage with you guys! Unfortunately, I couldn't get away to ride with you the next day. I can't remember if Dave was with us or not that night???

Take care and thanks for your support!!!

Silvertip, Reading your words just choked me up. Dave was special. He reached out to so many people in so many ways that it still feels like yesterday that we sat and had a beer or a talk or a laugh or a big old stuck! so many great memories. The Cabin and the orange fight and the howling back at down valley dogs. lol. did I mention the stucks? Good memories are frozen in time. My heart just breaks still. Then I think of the fund raiser in McCall with his family there and all the love and friendships and rides since and the meaning and impact of the loss is clear to me. One man left a mark on many. We have honored his life in the way we act and interact still. That won't change. Dave brought out a bit of Animal in us all. :) I still thank Dave a lot of nights for all the true friends he brought into my life. Too many to mention. Yeah, I got hit with the sappy stick tonight but these times do that to me. some nights ya just don't know whether to laugh or cry at the memories but they always touch me. Always will I suppose.

Thanks Dave! ;)
