Chris Burandts back country adventure

The trip looks like this:
Jan 28, Landing in Aspen. If Im gonna go to Co for some sledding and it happends to be in the same period as X Games-then Im forced to see them, even if loging in Aspen is way out of my original budget.

i live and work in aspen/snowmass village. i work for a great company that may be able to help you find a place to stay, aspen or snowmass village. (aspen/snowmass has free bus service year round so you will not need a car to get around.) here is the website www.alpineproperty.com

to get back to the subject, do you get to choose your sled? or is his fleet all the same polaris? can you pay more money to rip a turbo or is that even available?

Hey Stem and Tobbe...Trip of a life time guys! DO IT.

Hey word to the wise...guys coming from sea level to play in the real mtns. You have to really really work your butts off to get into shape. Even in great physical shape you will still suffer the effects of altitude. We about killed a couple of buddies from Norway when they came over for European Customer Appreciation Days. Now we had a lot of OFF SLED FUN that may not have helped them but one thing is certain. You go from sea level to 8000 feet and work your butt off you'll be sick no matter who you are! They got flat worn out during their tour of Idaho and Oregon. I assure you that 5 riding days with Chris will be more physical/worse then what we put them through! you might seriously consider staggering your riding days with recovery days. I know that sounds screwed up but if you are spent after day two the rest of your trip is a waste. Think on it...communicate with Burandt and most of all ENJOY RIDING ON OUR SNOWMOBILE BETTER BOARDS!

here is the snow they found......

Regarding altitude I am fully aware of the problem-I was in Co in the mid -90is for some sledding and skiing. On the other hand-the sledding was nothing close to wat I expect from Mr.Burandt, with that said-I spend my evenings in the rowingmachine five-six days/week right now.(I do use it since before as complement to spinning and crosstraning) In addiction I have a pretty close friend that is captain in the Swedish Cross-Country skiing and he has promised to put together a training program for me to help me handle the altitude-I hope hes got some trick up hes sleeve for me.

But.
I do appreciate your concern, and I probably overestimate myself-but nomore than the last of my buddys who drop out of the trip. When I told him pretty mutch the same thing that you tell me, he responded that it should be no problem since he workout pretty often. He likes bodybuilding:face-icon-small-dis
"You wont need more muscles" I told him, you need lungcapacity...he didnt wanna listen to me, but on the other hand he wasent too interested when we came down to booking eather since he tought the wholr trip got too expensive. (No, he has absoluterly no financial problems, rather the opposite)

Sorry, I feel I lost track here.

Thanks for your input. I will report how it worked out when I get home. And I will not admit any weakness:face-icon-small-hap

I alredy got hotel, "by chance" I got a reservation at the same hotel as the Monster Energy team:face-icon-small-coo
Way over my budget, but its the trip of a lifetime so I felt that it was worth it.

Regarding sled its supposed to be 2011 800 BD turbo. I do hope it will be so and there not gonna be any problem to get the new engine to work with some boost!

my guess on the hotel you are staying at would be the SKY hotel? if you are wanting to meet up and get a little local low down on the bars/good inexpensive food shoot me a pm before you leave. you are going to love it out here and it will be a trip of a life time for sure.

Nope, its not the Sky. I dont know if it is official, but I can throw you a PM on that. A guide around town would be mutch appreciated, but I think Im gonna be very careful with the beer...
