Choosing Between a Rev and an XP

I am trying to make the decision to buy a used rev, like an 06 x with a 159, or buy a holdover xp new.

How risky is buying the holdover 08 even if the updates have been done?

Would it be worth buying the older rev and waiting to buy an 09 next year?

I would just like to hear some opinions.

I bought a hold over 146 xp from Wellers up in kamas last may. They did all the updates before i picked it up, even changed to a 19t gear, and my sled ran perfect on the 3 rides i rode it late last spring. I wouldn't hesitate at all buying a hold over 08 as long as you make sure the dealer does the updates and recalls before you pick it up like i did. You'll have basically an 09 at alot cheaper price.

No question. Get the XP all the way! I've had all year Revs, and the XP is alot funner. Like said before, get the updates done, and you'll have an awesome sled. If you buy the Rev, you'll keep wondering why you didn't buy the XP. JMO!

XP...the ergonomics are way better. The XP has a lot more room for your legs and knees. Get the updates done and you will be very happy. Best sled I have ever ridden IMO.

XP

If you have a good dealer that knows what he is doing (there are some idiots out there) then go XP. This sled is mechanically sound and won't be that far off of an 09. You may want a shim kit for the secondary and a clutch kit from DJ to get the performance out of it. Also make sure you have a 377 belt on it. After a less than stellar introduction BRP has done a good job standing behind these sleds and making them a good machine.

After last year I had a rev my buddies had many X-p's 1500 miles later the rev is still a better tree sled.However the Rev doesent get on the snow as well..weight.. track.. better attack angle..However shame on Doo for all the issues nothing like releasing the X-p saying all the issues of the 07 Rev wer fixed?!
watched many buddies be ginnipigs :mad:Bottom line you shouldnt have to overhaul a new sled so much:( I like to ride not tow of be towed so either one is a risk but like one doo budy tells another dont buy one without a good warranty and a tow rope.Now i never said either one wasant fun to ride just bring a rope eitherway.:eek:

06 800 159X All the way!!

I have had my 159X 800 for 2 seasons now and absolutely love it!!
I did put a can and NOS so the XP boys could not beat up on me!!
Its an incredible sled , boondocks and climbs like an bobcat on steroids..:D.

But my riding buddies had XPs and we were always
pulling the (test dummys) as I call it out... I would wait and buy the 09
so you dont have to waist you time fixin the thing. (or hope the dealer
fixed the thing) Or maybe the Dealer has a HOT counter chick you like to see...... In that case buy it and have fun at the dealer!!:):beer;:beer;

Rev ->>> XP

I've had the Revs, went to a XP last season late. Now I can't wait to ride my new XP 09' 154.
I personally would go for the XP, the Rev was great, but the XP will out Doo it in every aspect.

i must be the only guy here thats gone backwards!

i had an 06 159x..best sled i've ever owned...traded off for an 08 xp...sold it after the season..scooped up a used 06 159..and i'm happy again..lol:o

ive found that my old 06 was easier to manuver(i play lots in the trees)..and more user friendly to work on!

i'm sure the 09s will be better set-up sleds than the 08's! my buds are buying 09's so ill have a good comparison this season!
