Chinook Pass/Bald mtn./Little Naches

Geez, what a bust! Stupid weather man said 2-4 feet in the mtns...we got about 3". What a great job, you can be wrong 50% of the time and still get paid. If I was wrong 50% of the time in my job I'd have been fired a long time ago....

Ty, let us know if it's looking better for tomorrow. Been waiting for some good news up that way, but if I don't hear something soon I'll have to head to Ahtanum tomorrow.

Thanks

Last day I rode was the 1st - went up to Ravens Roost cutting fresh tracks the whole way. Sitting here in Cliffdell waiting for this storm to come in now. Rode a bunch that week - hit
most everything from Pyramid out to Bald. Didn't touch Little Bald. How's that up there if you know?

Weird snow today, found some good pockets of untracked powder and other areas looked great, but had huge wind blown drifts that were either hard as concrete or bottomless soft fluff. Started snowing about 2 and visibility went south, so we headed in early to get ready for the game or A1...I'll be watching both. Ready for a big dump of snow up here, pretty much everything is tracked up now. Could use a day of rain to settle things down, then about 4' of pow on top of that. In the mean time, we're headed North for some serious pow therapy.

So the groomer ran all the way down Gold Creek to the washout. Nice work groomer, it is smooth as silk. So if anybody wants to ride down Gold Creek to Gold Creek Station for a refreshing beverage or some world famous fish and chips, you'll have a nice smooth ride. About 6" of new down at the bar as of this morning and the parking lot is all plowed out.

I own a cabin at gold creek. How is the bypass trail holding up on the gold creek logging road? I was involved in cutting that bypass trail and building the small bridge across the ceeek after the washout event a few years ago. Hope people take care of that little bridge.

We've met before, your cabin is near the end of my road. Bypass is good, the bridge is good, I've had to rebuild it once or twice. Thinking about a more permanent and heavy duty bridge sometime down the road. But, to answer your question, bypass is good.
