just a heads up. got 8 or so rides on slp pipe and vforce, just pulled to check them out. pedals are all chipped and cages are cracked right down the middle. what a bunch of crap.these are new.

I have ran v-force reeds for years. i have had this happen a lot, i carry extra reed paddles in my sleds. they work great but you have to remember they are stiffer so they will break easier. sorry and good luck

yep they've been like that on the dragons for a few years now. stock is the way to go

X2. Took me 1/4 of last year to figure out why my sled was barely runing unless I was at WFO. It ended up the VF 3 reeds were toast. Back to stock reeds for me.

So the question is?
I'm running VF3's and i know they suck.

With my head and pipes, am i going to hurt anything when I go back to stock reeds.

Biggest advantage to aftermarket items like the V-force reeds were the design of the reed cage, the stock reed cages on the CFI-4 and the present CFI-2 are very similar to the aftermarket setups...except the pedals don't chip.

Ditch the V-force, Carbon tech reeds are 10x longer lasting. I run them and I have had them last up to 800 to 900 miles.

they use the stock reed cages, great product. This is in my big bore. And 11 pro.

IMO V-force is a thing of the past, unless they step up.

reeds

when the pipe was installed , around 800 miles ,stock reeds were pulled to put in the vforce and they were competly chipped this is running stock.ive put in new vforce for now but did order a set of mt carbon tech. ill pull the reeds at 200 miles and see whats going on. as a side note there was a lot of oil laying in the pto side bottom of cases. and what i would call a normal amount in the mag side. not sure whats going on there

I called V force last year and they did updated petal for the pro but after another 4 to 500 hundred mile they started to crack, so they still have issues for sure..... Where can i get some of those carbon tech reeds

the v-force(and I suppose others as well) are suffering from overheat...they rely on the air/fuel going thru them (on most motors) to cool the reeds down..that doesnt happen on the cfi motors(injectors are in the transfers), thus the reeds overheat and break(much like running down the road at 70 with a underinflated tire..overheats and boom)..have heard boysens hold up about the best besides the stock reeds...
