Check out this neglected Duramax...

This customer comes in with a 2006 Duramax and says..."truck has no power" and "better be under warranty"
I wish I could show a cross section of his fuel filter but cant doo it. I will tell you his fuel vaccumme was 14 inchs and after new filter was 1.5. Check out his air filter!!!! This is one time when you go to the waiting room with filter in hand and the customer sure cant deny that repair...he should be damnnn right embarrist.

What a Idiot Himark I went and asked my diesel dury guy and the highest he has ever seen is 7 inches...................:eek::eek: Oh wait buy a diesel and do nothing to it till 200k.........WRONG ANSWER :mad: Idiots..

I'll bet he got almost as bad fuel millage with that dirty filter as a Ford with a clean one! Oh, forgot, there might be a power stroke owner on here! lol

Yesterday we just did one of our customers 1st oil change....at 28,000 miles!

Great way to break in (more like break) a new car!

Sorry

Sorry Himark not hijack this thread.... but sometimes I think these topics are foloowing my day to day life:eek:

Story...I bought a commuter car about 2 months ago '92 Mitsubishi Diamante (gas on my truck was killing me) bought it off a co-worker who bought it brand new! car could not pass smog so i got a good deal, anyway I got it to pass with a new Cat. Converter and filter and had to weld the tail pipe.

So the car has been running like a champ until.....I took it in yesterday to have the oil changed lubed, and and air filter....Ran fine on the way home and for about 3 miles today I was doing 65 on the freeway and it just dies:mad: I put it nuetral coasted to the offramp where I sat for 20 minutes(cranks over fine but wont start) finally it started up again ran fine for a few miles then dies again?

Could the air filter be in upside down or maybe a fuel filter just happen to clog up 15 miles after a service? It is really odd that this happened so soon after a oil change?(friggin service guys can't trust any of them;)

hope you got at least 2hrs diagnostic time:D people like this are my favorite customers and make them pay dearly for being idiots and neglecting simple maintnance

brothers crew plugged a filter so bad on a 6.5 that the turbo pulled the foam off the end of the filter and ran it through the motor, screwed up the turbo and took out the shaft seals, they problably would have still been goin

Sounds more like a ignition problem. Oil change may just be a fluke.

At first it looked like he had baby mice and bats sucked up into that filter...Yuck!

My 06 Duramax has that huge circular air filter....lots of surface area.

Should see the vehicles that a local Buffalo ranch brings in. I thought I saw some bad rigs in Gillette with field workers there. I dropped my jaw when I saw an 07 F-150 with less than 9k miles on it. I'll take a picture of one the next time they bring one in. You guys will not believe how these trucks look inside and out.

wow...that is the dirtiest filter I've even seen.

Yes was mine too...I have have seen some bad ones but this one was the worst for me. I also think it looks like dryer lint???? I looks like it in pics and up close in person too. Not sure what that could be??? unless he lets it idle outside a laundry mat or something. One mechanic thought it looked like rabbit fur
