This customer comes in with a 2006 Duramax and says..."truck has no power" and "better be under warranty"
I wish I could show a cross section of his fuel filter but cant doo it. I will tell you his fuel vaccumme was 14 inchs and after new filter was 1.5. Check out his air filter!!!! This is one time when you go to the waiting room with filter in hand and the customer sure cant deny that repair...he should be damnnn right embarrist.

Not surprising at all.

Looks like some of the filters we see in ag equipment in here. Guys complaining about no power, smoking, hard starting, etc. Some people shouldn't be allowed to operate anything other than a wheelbarrow.

I have found most people are pretty poor on maintaince. I think you pulled that filter out of the wrong pickup, I thought 04' and early 05' was the last year for the flat filter.

Had the exact same thing here last week, 06 Dodge diesel, no power, fuel mileage in the crapper. Pulled air box lid off, filter was half sucked up into the lid. Then he tells me "go ahead and service everything, it's been almost a year"

You should have gone and smacked the guy over the head with that filter and said I found your problem. I can't see how people can let there equipment get the bad.

$$$$$$$$ all it takes is grocery sacks full of 100s

Wish I could say who this is but he has enough money and no time. So he buys a new rig...runs it until it drops dead and has it towed to the dealership, jumps in a new rig and drives away. :( I eat crud all the time for 3k mile oil changes , air filters and so on. I guess I learned a long time ago P.M. is cheap. :light: Dino

When I was at a Chrysler dealer out in Edmonton we had an old guy come in with his Intrepid complaining of a noise. Well the engine guy goes out and fires it up and the thing was bangin and rattling so bad you would think he replaced the 3.5 with a 12 valve. The tech drives it into the shop and pulls the oil drain plug. 2 drops.... that's it. Checks the dipstick again and it reads full. Still nothing out the drain so he sticks a screwdriver in just to see. The end of this screwdriver comes out covered in smelly black jello. So he drops the oil pan and seriously this gelatinous black goo stuck to the crank and just jiggled there. Turns out the customer was sold a brand new Dodge Intrepid and was told it could go 150,000 kms before it's first scheduled tune up. Apparently he thought a tune up was an oil change. 1 motor and 1 very, very, very angry customer later and off he went.

Black jello smells rank

That filter looks like it just came out of a clothes dryer!

Was the guy doing 80 mph through a cotton field or what?

LOL

Pa used to work for satun... had a lady who never checked or changed the oil and toasted an engine... Don't remember mileage.
Then the other extreme... Lady brings in a car with an oil leak... Oil everywhere!
They check the oil and it is dam near plum full.
Lady added a quart of oil everytime she put gas in whether it needed it or not!
