check engine light

Service engine warning at start up, then light flashes five times, pause then five times. Maybe pipe sensor, does this need to be cleared by dealer after new sensor put on. 09 rg800 boondocker.
Thanks in advance.

Two different things. First is the service interval that can be reset or turned off by using your toggle buttons. It is just telling you that the timer has expired reminding you of service interval. Second, the flashing 5 CEL is telling you that you have problems with you pipe sensor. Mine just went out and had to replace it. When they are working correctly it will stop flashing. You can buy a new one and install it yourself. Put anti-seeze on it, and then just barley tighten it. If you tighten it to tight it will damage it. Just tighten it enough that it won't fall out. They are $150.00 so be careful with the new one.

Thanks for the info I already put the new one in and still have the light so either I damaged it or have other problems.
Thanks

If you put the new one in you have to run it before the CEL will clear. I think you have to run it for 2 min above 3000 rpms and 2 min below 3,000. Have you tried running it?

Just get it above 4k rpms and it should turn off. I rode my sled up and down my driveway once and the 5 flashes turned off.

Mine just went out on my 09 D8 turbo for the third time. Last two times it reset itself after replacement. This time no luck. Had to take it to a dealer for reset. No issues since. Took two minutes and they didn't charge me!

How tight are you tightening them when you put them in? Any idea what is causing them to go out? What's the max egts you see? Just trying to figure out why they seem to go out more on the turbos more. Heat, pressure waves,vibration....?

scanner

I made an interface connector that connects to a obd 2 scanner .I can scan codes and earse them ,so i dont have to run to the polaris dealer everytime cel comes on.It works on my fst it should work on on other sled i would think ....

scanner?

any chance of posting a schematic and any other details?

The connector that connects to digital wrench seems to have only 3 wires, whereas and OBD connector has more....
