check eng trouble code question

Check eng light stays on. 2011 pro 800, 619 mi., 38.8 hours. Checked the code this morning, has one. It's 173, exh. temp Sensor, with a 3, voltage too high. Sled also cut's out if holding a steady rpm, approx. 7000, on a straight trail, about 4000-6000'. I've added a can and noticed the bog in the first 5 miles. Have not tryed the stock can again. It's a bikeman can. I'm hoping the sensor has failed and it's not the can causing the bog and the check eng. Anyone have experience with this code, and what did you find the fix was? Can only the dealer clear codes? I have not cleaned or inspected the power valves, run VES gold since day one. Other than accasional bog on the hill, sled pulls great. Exh. probe is tight, wires connectors are tight. I think the check eng light came on intermittently the first ride with the can on. Maybe should have kept it stock but this can SOUNDS awesome.
