Challenger Vs Series IV

Was thinking of switching up tracks on my 05 edge 159. Currently have the stock series IV 2" under there now. Is it worth it to go to the Camoplast Challenger 2" instead?

Really I'd like to know which track hooks up and trenches less in powder and sugar snow. My powerclawd '10 M8 was just crapping all over my Edge series IV last weekend in steep sugar snow climbs to get into a new area. Both have ~ the same power levels too.

If I could put a 2.25" track under there I would but not sure which way is easier and/or more cost effective....drop and roll or smaller drivers. Would go this route but don't want to spend over $1000 total. That's why I was thinking just a track swap if it was a big enough gain in these snow conditions for just another 2" tall lug track...

The Polaris track will work better in the light stuff, and the challenger is better in set up or firm snow. Over all I'd go with the challenger but in the deep those soft Polaris tracks work pretty well.

Yep, what he said. You will have to work with your setup for the CE to not trench (limiter strap). I wish I rode in powder everyday, but I don't. So the CE is a better all purpose track. Hooks up like now other and holds itself on the steep hills better. It does weigh almost 6 lbs more so you lose track speed and top speed a tad. I think it is worth it. The 5.1 has a hard time hooking up to get good runs in tight spots. I know you probably don't ride the trails much, but the CE dominates the 5.1 on hard surface. On super powder days, you have to know how to ride the CE. Feather the throttle to let the sled come back up on the snow.

Cheapest best way is Challenger Exreme 2" WAY better all around track paddles are in differnt location PM RYDPWDR he can explain it better or do a search it has been discussed several times. I wouldn't go 2.4 without the drop and roll and if you do that you might as well go 2.5" but it gets pricey. Trust me I just did it. Go with the 2" Camo X you will be happy.
