Was searching around for info on the new peak 2.5 track and came across these pic on another forum of the new CE. Is this for all new CE or just certain models? Does anyone have any more info?

claims to be part# 9176M (track on right) replaces the old part# 9944M (track on left)

Saw this on Camoplast website:
"The 2011 versions of this benchmark high country track weigh approximately 8 per cent less than the equivalent models being replaced. Featuring the traditional Challenger design of outside edge lugs on one pitch followed by a center lug on the next pitch, the new Extremes are equipped with a 2.5-inch no-tooth lug. Every lug incorporates support towers in the center and on the edges for excellent lug support, but the section between the towers is thin and flexible under load to improve floatation in soft, bottomless powder."

Lug design looks very similar to the new Peak, which they dont even have on the website.

One of my main concerns is braking power. I currently run a PC and while going forward the performance is great, breaking is almost scary. Im looking for a change.

How do you think the new designs are going to affect braking?

And why no 3" pitch for the new Peak?

The new challanger looks good but I am not sure it will work with standard 3" drivers without cutting the small "extra" nubs it has for arctic cat drive off. No biggie but still a pita to do. I guess you could machine off the introvert drivers on the outside of the avid drivers but i'm thinkin the trak mod is safer to do. Peak looks great but I still think all that was said about the maverick when it came out...uhg what a pile that thing was

I didn't know the new CE came that way, are you sure? They are the same as the powerclaw tracks? I have 2 sleds right now running the power claw, one with standard drivers that I took a razor blade and cut the little nubs off the track. The other has the new Avid Powerclaw stlye drivers so I didn't have to do that. I must say that I don't notice any difference in running either sled. But are the new CE tracks all this new redesigned style?

I think they dropped the old design, the new one is a single ply.The 3 inch Challenger Extreme is still the old style two ply.

yeah, called tracks usa 2 days ago, no biggie but the nubs are there

Having a little experience with trimming tracks and stuff, take a sawzall blade, and sharpen the back side of it on a bench grinder and use that in the sawzall. Cuts rubber like no ones business! So far the easiest way to cut them that I've heard of. Although, a hot knife may be better, but the sawzall blade is way cheaper!

I bought a new CE last year and mine looks like the one on the right.

Hello the pic of the 2 tracks side by side are those 15 or 16 wide tracks? I noticed the replacement one on the right the belting is wider than the lug pattern is this a 16inch track with 15inch lug wideth? or are all wideths this design,

one more thing, is the replacement smaller ply and lighter??

Thanks, Wildcard
