Chaincase cover options/opinions

Well, mine gave out and melted like a mofo in the process on the '07 D7. Season is done anyways so I'll be replacing my cover over the summer.

I know I can just get another plastic cover and brace (I never got that update done... my bad) but that doesn't seem like the way I want to go. Has anyone here run one of the billet covers? How was fitment/sealing? Did you need to silicone the thing to get a good seal?

Also, will the Magnesium covers from the newer IQs fit on an 07 case housing?

Can't believe they could mess up a chaincase. I pulled the cover off my ProX case dozens of times and never had an issue.

with the limited riding i got in this year, i have been very impressed with the billit one i have one my 900

guido has a few with more miles on them, but i dont see how anything other than a major accident could hurt it, very well made product

polzinhunter makes them, think guidoxpress might still have one for sale and he can tell you how easy they are to install

Yes, the magnesium covers for the 09-10 Dragons will fit 06-08's and 09 Shift Chaincases with the plastic cover as long as you use the the 09-10 rubber seal as well. However, I would strongly recommend contacting Guidoxpress on the forum here and getting the Billet cover for only a few dollars more. I have had to replace a few of the Magnesium covers that have had very small hairline cracks in which they would leak oil. These (3 now) covers looked like they had a machining issue or some kind of porrous issue. The billet covers will never have this issue.

I've got a couple of the Avid billet covers left in a tub somewhere. I will be having a big IQ yards sale soon, stay tuned. EW
