Chain Tensioner - Super Quick Question

The the sprint arm belong in spot "A" or should it be clipped on to the ridge in spot "B"?

most guys are doing manual chain adjusters, stock one is known to wear, break and not keep adjustment. You can either buy the whole kit or piece it together from the RR snowcross sled. I cant vouch for any, as I have a belt drive but here are a couple examples.

That's right where you have it. The manual chain tensioner in the Viper/7000 Cat is what you want. Unfortunately that spring is still part of the equation with the manual. there's a thread on here just search for it that shows the install and part numbers needed.

I wouldn't say "most" I would say a few switched over but most sleds are still stock if you look

That goofy auto adjuster is one part of the sled I've never had a problem with. PITA to install but seems to work. 2600mi have installed the 19-50 gears and 15 wide chain. Wanted to do 20-50 but the chain wouldn't fit.

Im running 20 50, my 90 p chain fits n works great, even tho i was told it wouldn't.

I have STMs tensioner in, never an issue

Maybe would fit on a used chain that has stretched a bit. New chain would not fit 20-50 gears. I tried, it was close but no go.

it was the original chain w/ 400 miles of 21/49 on it, so ya

yes I sure don't miss that auto tensioner also. Go with the manual set up if you got the chain case open very easy takes 15-20mins to do. There is also a thread on it in here.
