Hello all. I have a 1988 or 1989 Indy 400 liquid cooled, I think 1989. This spring while bombing around the yeard I snapped the chain (my fault/ poor maintenance). I then towed the sled about a quart of a mile and the chain wrapped over itself and is wedged doubled over between the lower gear and the tensioner.
So three issues have come up:
1. As I open up the chaincase the chain is wedged in there, doubled over on itself between the lower gear and the chain tensioner. It is wedged in there so tight I cannot get the chain out. Any ideas how to remove the chain? Cut it out? It's in there hard.... Could I remove the lower gear, and how do i do that?
2. If/ when I ever get the chain out, is all I need to do is replace the chain and add chain case fluid? How does the chain go on there? Could I remove the gears at all to help with removing or adding the chain?
3. does any one know what chain I put on the sled for a replacement?
Thx all in advaance!
