I'd like to know what you all think about the CE 2.5.
Pros?
Cons?
Weight difference from stock 5.1
Durability?

Thanks guys

does it slow/stop better going downhill than the 5.1?

the 5.1 is a wild ride compared to the 2.6 power claw on my cat:face-icon-small-sho

So the general feeling is that this track is so good that it's worth replacing my 5.1 with it. Hmmm....what to do.
I guess there are obviously no clearance issues?

I think the real question is what is better the CE 2.5 or PC 2.6?? I think there both about 7-8lbs heavier then the stock track. Both have been called best all around track.

I went from the 5.1 to the CE 2.5 on my IQR and it was night and day better!! Awesome track and it will be going under my pro this year. Not sure how true it is but I heard 3 to 5 sled lengths on stock 14's in an uphill drag race with the tracks being the only difference. Now obviously snow conditions and rider weight all come into play but I have noticed a big difference in my experience.

great track

Installed CE 2.5 on my 2009 700 RMK. Found it to be better all around it hooks up better on blown snow and on the trail to the go stuff. Same track is now under my 2011 PRO RMK estimate 3000 miles. I have now had any issues still has all the paddles and I am not always nice to it. Clearance is tight and a little difficult to install. Some are trimming the paddles have not tried that.

track

the 2.5 worked great without changing drivers on my 09 dragon and 13 pro. No clearance issues. The only time I had to change the drivers is when I went to a 3" on my pro

Sounds like one of these will be goin on along with a possible BB

Thanks guys. I still think drivers will help the clean out. Heard of some having vibrations from having a hard time shoveling snow through

I had the 3" track on my sled for about 3 weeks and took that piece of crap off and replaced it with the CE 2.5. Hands down, the BEST all around track I have ever owned. I liked everything about it. I would do it again in a heart beat.

I was considering the new style 2.5 CE with the 3" pitch if I could only get one with the center windows punched out. Then I could use the newer Avid drivers that wouldn't require trimming the rails.

Call Tracks USA. They were building a punch.

After personally running many sleds with trimmed rails... I'm not really sure why people are so resistant to trimming rails back about 1.5"?

Never a problem... AND... yes... I've run that way with and W/out anti-stab...

I've heard from some that they are worried about friction at the front of the rail or that the sled runs faster track speeds if you don't trim the rails.... with a properly tensioned track... I've never seen any issues... but hey, everyone has, and is entitled to, their own opinion (including me). The Polaris Race Sleds run shorter rails with combo drivers (aka "extros") from the factory, Ski-Doo, Yamaha and Cat all run combo drivers from the factory on the mountain sleds.

The new style "PC" drivers that I worked on with Robbie at Avid have been rock solid and run more smoothly than the older style previous design Anti Ratchet drivers that ride on top of the clips all the time... the new ones run on rubber only...unless the track starts to ratchet.

My sled build for next year will have the AVID combo drivers.

I've run at least 10 sets of these on my own builds and builds that I've helped others with.... I prefer the use of anti stab kits with trimmed rails for the ease of rolling (with anti stab rollers on trimmed rails... rolls easier than untrimmed stock rails )
