cdi's water proof???

Long story short I finally got the high alt. cdi for my 04 king from the guy I bought the sled from last year and he said it was sitting in a bucket of water!!! Dumba$$!!!!!!! My question is are they water proof or not??? He said he just found it like that last night and I can't hear anything like water in it when I shake it. If it does have moisture in it will it wreck anything else if it shorts out?

aw what the heck? parts are cheap!! plug it in and try it for a few days!!
lol. yea maybe you better get some REAL advice, not mine before we leave for the mts!!!
maybe you better leave the 'extra" sled home, couple cheap m8's in MT on our way????:cheer2:

As long as the plug is dry, it "should" be ok. I'm not 100% sure how well the pins are sealed, but if you can't hear anything, and the plug looks ok, I'd give it a try. You shouldn't fry anything but the box itself anyway.

I would place it near a heat register for a couple days and let it thoroughly dry. place in different positions and see if water leaks out. Should be fine but you never know?
