water spray or coins in empty bottle to make noises, cats dont like it. use it for many time if you see cats get on table again and later they will learn not to get on table again.

Place double faced tape on the countertops where the cat jumps up on the countertop. Cats hate sticky things on their paws.

Clapping your hans and yelling at them works also but, it is only effective if you catch them in the act. The tape never sleeps and keeps vigilant watch even when you have left for the day or night.

Excellent idea except the traps are too small, a 220 conibear should do it!!

I had a problem with the cats getting on my truck in the garage. I put down news paper and bought the sticky glue type mouse traps. The cat would jump up and get that sticky a$$ trap stuck to it's self and lose about half it's fur. Onyt jumped up twice. Problem solved.
