Carls 910

Hello Biltit, just purchased a 04 vertical escape w a carls 910, slp twins
40mm carbs
Pre mixed 40:1
148 psi, around .060 squish.
I am at 1950-2000ft a planning the run around 97 octane.

Trying to get info from carls cycle but I was planning on jetting around 580-600 for -13f

Wondering if that seems ok?

I honestly dont know about the jetting, i run a holtzman atacc and jet for the coldest only (cannot recall the jetting atm).

Octane sounds about right, if i dont run 30% av/premium i get detonation when the pipes heat up on long wot pulls. I run closer to 50/50 if i am planning alot of prolonged wot. (Can be alot if going across a lake with some snow with only a 121x1.75 track)

I can dig around and try to come up with jetting, with the atacc i jet for -30C.

I also run a gutted tstat, runs as cool as a cucumber.

Looked up some old posts and looks like i am running 560s for jets. I should know more in the next few weeks, can dig in and check for sure what i have in it.

Ok so I’m right there I have 560’s with needle in pos 4

Anyone ever figure out a way to keep the 910 EGTs from running lean/hot while going down the trail? I tried a bunch of different settings, jetting, needles, ect but it always seems to run lean and hot at a certain rmp range. I finally gave up and would just blip the throttle or flip the choke on. I think I was running 520s 03 800 needles clip in the 3rd or 4th slot bored carbs ATACC.

I have never had hot issues, even on trails with minimal snow for cooling. Scratchers?

Sorry I'm referring to the EGTs running hot. I know others where also having the same issue.

I disconnected my egts, dont worry about them. Not very often i run on the trails though.
