carlisle ultimax belts

So purchased my rmk, had 62g weights in it, for my elevation the chart states 66s. already had some 64s so i put them in, still revved to high, put in 66s my dad blew the belt and i never got to ride it, replaced it with a carlisle ultimax belt, had to put in 64g weights...

I suppose the stickyer carlisle belt is the reason for the rpm drop but seems like my 64s are a bit much for the motor too.

when i go to the hills the chart states 62g but im running 60s and still not getting full rpms. I cant beleive the belt has this much influence on rpms but im thinking putting the polaris belt in and seeing if this is the issue.

i also changed the primary spring to a yellow epi, and put in in 18/43 gears........ I have to say it was the worst trenching climb nothing piece ever.

So its going all back to stock and see what happens.

um, ok. 600? 700? 800? shouldnt be anything wrong with a cralisle belt, ive been using them for years, great belts. I've never been a fan of gearing that low, for any kind of riding. Some people will say to gear way down on a mountain sled, ive just never had any benefits from going too low. probably need more info though, is it fuel injected or carburated, what track and elevation?

I have found the rpm to come down 200 when using a carlisle ultimax belt...

put a polaris belt on and my 200 rpm came back!! The rubber must be different!

The width is different too. The guys that know, will tell you to re-shim the primary for the Carlisle belt. I never did, but I could the difference between the two belts for that reason.

Check motor mounts. I ate a bunch of belts on my '05, and it wasn't until I lifted the motor out did I find out why.

good advice and thats why its good to use Polaris belts

You're not really losing anything with carlisle belts, the rpm drop is from it being stickier, which in theory is a good thing, and should lead to lower clutch temps & longer lasting belts. On most N/A sleds that works well as long as you clutch for it properly, but some sleds work better with some slip... my turbo, even when setup for the xs belts... doesn't spool worth a crap on them.
