CARB gas cans absolutely suck.

I have 1 rant I need to let go. Whoever decided that the newer style CARB compliant gas cans needed to be "mandatory" should be beaten. I wind up spilling MORE gas with those POS cans than any of the old ones. Am I alone here or what? Kinda seems counter intuitive. Go figure.

grrr

had to buy one of those pieces of s#!^ today for my sisters snowblower. not only non vented but it now has a stupid spring valve thing with some kind of switch crap man i was pissed

could a person just build and sell old style gas can caps and vent kits? they would clean up.

It all started in California, like all the good ideas

I hate them with a passion

They are supposed to keep you from filling up your running lawnmower and catch on fire as well.

this was another "good" idea thought up by retarded Cali's (not Cali sledders) because according to them that when your filling your machine if you cant smell the fumes from the vent that the fumes don't exist

The POS things ore more money than the old ones to boot. Kind of like the "new and improved" WD-40 tops. Just another excuse to screw you dry.

Yup, pretty counter-productive in my book as well.... had I known the old cans were going to be discontinued, I would have bought 20 of them, those were real gas cans... these new ones are a joke:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Here in Cali this is the second generation of those cans, believe it or not the first ones were much much worse, they had a weird spout you had to push in the tank to make it turn on, they poured slow and sprayed fuel when you bumped them, they didn't fit in any car i've ever owned, and it was impossible to put a hose on the end to make them work right, you'd have to carry a funnel along with them

The new ones with the switch lever suck but are easy modify, you just need to snap off the safety toggle switch, and then you can put a hose on the end, now you have a can with an on/off switch that's easy to operate with a long spout and doesn't have any safety crap.

I'm frustrated with Blitz though, I used to be able to get the old style gas cans in Nevada, now they only make one type of can for all 50 states.

Another awful California thing, Downey Offroad (RIP) used to make long range gas tanks for trucks, they were headquartered in CA but weren't allowed to sell them in California.....only to the other 49 states.

Now they're out of business, no wonder we have some of the highest unemployment numbers...
