Right now - SLP Pipe and Can


2005 / 900 / 166 Full Clip Ported with Avid Anti Ratchets.

HighMark /Boise built it. It has the Head, Porting, Pipe, Y, Reflash, Reeds. It also has the upgraded Polaris Crank Kit that comes with the new Clutch and Belt.
Fire N Ice, lots of dash vents.

Finally got it under control with the Anti Ratchets, lots of Power.

It had a CPI Stinger on it, Loud but the power iwas great, decieving because of the Noise.

Put Stock SLP Can on it, to me it has lost SOME top end.



Any other CAN's that are not so loud but will give me my Power Back.

So here is the list I have gotton so far and my experience --

SLP * loss of Power
CPI Stinger * good power Loud

Dynoport big volume ?
Skinz ?
Boulder Mountain Sled Shed "Thing" ?
 
My HPS can sounds great and its loud, but not too loud!
Power is strong and constant
 
I took the CPI stinger off and install the Dynoport and it works great. Much better than the SLP's worked. It's a little louder than the SLP but not to much and has a nice deep mellow sound to it.

I like it so much I bought one for my other 900 too. Still got the CPI in a box in my trailer as a back up

I ran an SLP can all of last year. First ride out this year, I broke a baffle in the can which resulted in melted console plastic and a side panel. I replaced it with an MBRP which i love. It is louder, but the throttle response is more snappy and it turns 200rpm faster. All in all the sled seems to like the MBRP and other cans like it better than the more restictive type cans. JMO

Did the same thing, cracked the SLP and melted stuff around it. Also thought the same thing, sled is snappier with other cans. Two more things 5 mph faster track speed when climbing in deep powder and 10 mpg higher top speed.
 
Pretty much over the SLP mystique mistake..seemed to lose power rather than gain it!Once I switched I sold the old ASAP!

Dyno-port tested the SLP can on their dyno and it produced 5 hp less than stock.
