Canadians!

Dont get in a huff this isnt a which hockey team is best.

My crf 450 originated in canada. Seems no one knows where the title is. How does it work up there? Would someone be willing to go to a honda dealer up there or give me a number so I can have the vin ran and find out who actually owns this thing? Thanks

I've sold 2 sleds to canadians, had to have paper work & bill of sales to even get them over the border(works like this both ways). How did you get this bike?

Yeah call any shop with your VIN. They can pull up original owners registration in about 30 seconds.

Mystery ride eh!

Mmmm questions I would ask before buying it. Yah should be a big trail of paperwork as it past through the border.

Ive had this bike for 7 years now just never needed to register it so I figured it was about time I got on that.. Ive ran the vin in the US doesn't come up stolen. Ran it on some Canadian cop site came up clean. I bought it off one of my friends when we were in high school and he just said it was his uncles bike and some weird story of his uncle working at a dealer and just getting it right out of the crate and never getting a title for it...

Careful opening this can of worms...it may not be the most pleasant outcome...you do NOT want to be the one who has to pay all the fees associated with that thing coming over the border without paying...:face-icon-small-sho

So pretty much the only way this bike could enter the US without paperwork is 1. Someone came riding into the US and the bike got stolen. Or 2. Someone came riding into the US and decided to sell it while they were visiting?

Just phone a dealership in Canuckland and get them to run the VIN thru their Honda dealersite. It'll show who that bike was registered to first. If you don't like their answer, hang up and never mention it again. Betcha it was a dealer demo or something to that effect.

For sure. Lots of guys do #2 with dirtbikes and sleds both ways across the border. Often the buyer, or the seller, or both, don't realize the full situation until they try to register it. Also, with used dirtbikes in Canada....if it's a private sale, the title rarely changes hands after the first owner.
