Can question of the day?

I apologize for this thread and yes, I have read all of the numerous threads pertaining to cans at length. As my last sled came with a super Q can, and I was relatively happy, I have no knowledge of other cans, my buddies run stock mufflers. I like the jaws can and am leaning towards putting one on my new 13 rmk. My only question is I have heard water cooler talk that it robs some power from the motor. Is there any truth to this? I don't want this to turn into a Ford versus Chevy conversation, just looking for some good first hand knowledge from people who have run various cans. I'm also looking at the MBRP, great fit and finish, as well as HPS. Thoughts?

Most guys go with HPS, thats what I will be running with my 13.

There is some truth to it. The sleds are tuned so specific to the conditions that they were designed that a lot of the cans do cause a slight power drop. There are some cans that they flow test and claim no power loss. I'm not sure which ones as I feel they are a waste of money (no hp gain and little weight loss...and don't work with the hair dryer anyways), but I believe it's been on here before. Try searching for "can, hp loss" or something of the sort and maybe someone who paid more attention to the thread can chime in.

I really like the HPS on my'12 Pro. Sounds decent, not too loud, and no apparent power loss.

I'll be doing another HPS on my '13. I think they sound great.
