Can I use this helmet as a snowmobile helmet?

DEFINITELY the BEST tail light I have seen!:D:D:D:face-icon-small-coo:cool:

Boy did this thread veer off course but I want one of those too!

Although the way I make stupid descisions about the lines I take I think I'll have one made that reads..." WTF" 'cause that's what I'm usually saying to myself as I get stuck !!

Be warned that the type of helmet greatly depends upon what you are going to be using it, the type of riding. Mountain guys were MX helmets because the breathe really good, and generally you are getting hotter then crap carving around in the pow, climbing, playing.. or at least keeping you warm. The mx helmets get kind of cold on long windy trail rides up to different riding areas.

When I was in Illinois, full face helmets were the key. The Skidoo modular is actually a really really good helmet for that area. When it is -10 F out and you are riding around at 50 to 60 MPH all night, that is the only thing I have found to keep me warm and completely fog free. I never had an issue with fog, ever, with it. I tried using MX helmets back then, and got a little frost bite.

You have any riding buds? Ask their opinion, as their helmets are probably tailored to the type of riding you are going to do.

Some people just like MX helmets because they look cooler then full face shields... form over function it seems.

Good luck! Oh, and ditto the dual lens. You will need that a minimum, if fogging is still an issue, then heated visors can work also, or you need to get your breathe to go somewhere else.

Wow, a tool is trying to make fun of me... What will I ever do? Next thing you will say is that mittens aren't good either.

Dude... I have the same helmet that I use out here too.. Aria VX - Pro or whatever.. For the riding I did in Illinois, MX helmets were not that good, in the cold night time weather. Note that the riding there is mostly trail riding, field running and lots and lots of ditch banging. That is what I found that worked, and I have used lots of helmets.

Lots of times you will have -10 or colder weather, with 30 MPH winds and travelling at 40 - 50 MPH into it. The air will find a way to get in. A friend of mine got frost bite on his cheeks using a regular full face. I was completely warm the whole time. Is the NMFH gay? Well according to you it is. But for it's intended use, it works darn good. All I know is the modular and I would always be waiting for tards to unfog their crap.

Nice gear FORDMAN.

Ruffyrider makes a good point about riding in cold. We do some full out high speed cross crountry runs at 25 to 30 degrees below zero, and nothing but a full face with a heated shield will cut it. You will definately freeze your chin, cheeks, and any exposed skin...if any air can get in anywhere.

if your running trails either the skidoo nmfh or get an electric lens. I had one for trail burning and it was great...never fogged if it was plugged in.

Head sock and if it was real cold(down to 20 below from maybe 0) I wore a neck gaitor and stuffed that into the bottom of the lid to stay toasty. You'll know if you miss a spot.
