I have an 01 500 Mountain Cat and i wan't to extend the track out i was wondering what track size wouldbe best i want to go as i can and still have decent track speed for a 500. all advice accepted.

thanks

If you do a longer track on that 500, use a newer single ply track and port it. They revolve around the suspention a lot easier than the older tracks and help free some power up.

thanks for the advice i was thinking a 144 would be enough but just wanted to make see if anyone thought i could go bigger. thanks to everyone who responded.

are you sure an 01 500 will turn a 151 could i get some more oppinions and more specific.

I think a 151 would take the fun right out of th sled. A 500 should light and sporty not a 20 mph track speed sled that floats well but is sluggish.

Depends on whether you want to "go" or just have "fun", 151, my vote.

I got the same comments when I put a 156 under my old Powder Special in 2000, with the stock 136 it would never go where it would go with the 156, tractor-ing up the hills was much better for me than getting stuck halfway up with lots of track speed. It was "fun" for me back in 2000 tractor-ing past lots of the bigger HP sleds back then.
