Can clutch spring be changed without removing clutch

I want to play around with my clutch setups and was wondering if I needed to pull the clutch in order to change out the spring (both clutches)? I have mastered the removal/installation of the weights, but haven't done anything with the springs, which appear to be original on both the '01 and the '04.

starting line makes a little tool that helps, you can pull clutch plate off while sheaves are held closed

its just as easy to pull the primary off to change springs if not easier than doing it with the primary still on the sled.. and the secondary is nothing to change....take the bolt out, pull the secondary off take off the 3 nuts and change it...

A lot of it depends on the free length of the spring. If it is pretty long it will be harder.

The best thing is pulling the clutch. But that can lead to it's own issues.

You could build a compressor that after removing the clutch bolt you can screw it into the clutch to hold the cover down then let it off after you remove the cover bolts.
