Can anyone identify this sled?

Hi everybody, I'm not too familiar with Polaris sleds, so thought I'd ask someone on here....The ad says it's a 1980's 440 liquid cooled long track sled, but I thought they didn't start making VES valves until 1998? The ves valves in the picture don't look like typical Polaris parts to me anyway.. There's also a mountain strap on this sled, which I didn't think they had until 1995??? And is the seat custom made? Any help would be great, it's all Greek to me :kev:

Pull the VIN off of the side of the tunnel and post it and that will help us figure it out.

That looks like a late 90s 440 exhaust valve motor to me, hard to tell in that small picture.

Definitely not an 80s 440. On the recoil housing or where it bolts to the motor there should be a motor serial number too that can give us some hints.

Take some close up bigger pictures of the motor, front and rear suspensions and the rear of the tunnel and post them up.

Those are all the pictures the ad has. I can't take pictures, it's located three states away. I was looking for an older 440 and came upon this one but the ad (and photos) are very vague...

It looks like the seat is an early 80's model, the tunnel looks newer than that due to the factory taper. The hood is hard to tell, but the motor is a Liberty with power valves.

I did a little picture research before i posted this.

It's a 1996 polaris xlt 600 with the accs rmk version chassis with a non-polaris seat cover and somebody stripped the tunnel to aluminum.

The mountain bar was most likely installed by themselves.

The motor however is a 98 or later 440 ves engine...must have blown the motor and didn't wanna replace it with the triple. The 98 440 ves was a wedge chassis and them things rocked for a 440 so the parts were there and if they were running the stock triple they sucked unless you piped them so who knows why they did it but that's what it is :)
