Can a bad relay cause engine problem?

I hauled an 06 800 over 600 miles over Christmas for a 4 mile ride. Right out of the lot it started running rough and wouldn't rev up. I then noticed that the tach. wasn't working. Long story short, back at the shop I replaced the relay and got everything electrical back. But, would a bad relay also cause the engine problems. It seems to run fine in the shop but I hate to haul it very far and then still have engine problems. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, Check the throttle cable on the right carb. It can rub into the TPS wires and cause bad problems. I had this happen to me and it took quite a while to figure it out. Good luck.

Sled will run like crap, relay goes you lose the tach , headlight and the motor won't run for SH!&
