can a 07 case be machined?

my buddy has a 07 with 1100 miles on it, since the crank bearing are known to be tight on the 07s is it possible to open the case and machine it to 09 specs? is anybody doing this , any companies doing it
its too late for my 07 but ill have a 09 spec'd short block courtesy of BRP

did mine with an 06 to prevent that for about 65$

The 07s dont have t-stats. and have a really efficient cooling system, so your motor is running cold, and your crank is hot.

When your on the trail the case and crank will be hot, but if you venture into pow all of a sudden. the case will shrink around your crank, squeezing the bearings. adding a thremostat will keep your motor running warm.

there is a inline 08 t-stat you can install also.

I am in the process of doing this to my 07 right now. I didnt find out that BRP was goodwilling short blocks untill i already had my crank pressed apart!!
