Camso, hit of the season?

I'm still a CMX and Yeti fan, but appears to me that Camso may be the hit of the season.

Have we heard one bad thing about them yet? Ski maybe?

Mototrax has had growing pains, Timber Sled cluster fox, is even worse with Poo at the reigns.

Haven't heard anybody cry about their Camso being 2 months late. They're priced fairly decent, and the way they're distributed gets them into the hands of some dealers, that might actually give you a deal.

Camso is a great work in progress as well. They have had some service bulletins and the rear suspension leaves a lot to be desired. The deep snow capability is not as good as the Timbersled. I think they will make some refinements like all the others and learn as they go.

This is a great sport and it is progressing quickly. Competition makes the product better for all of us and I am glad all the players are working hard to make things the best they can.

Camso

With only two rides on mine and being my first snow kit. I am happy with mine. It's probly not the "best" in bottomless powder but I'm 260lbs and rode in it all day. The ski can rail the roads 5th gear pinned. But it is twitchy and not as good as the yeti ski. But for the price it is a realy solid kit with good inovative ideas that works very well. Install was 2 1/2 hrs start to finish for a first timer. Imo. It's not the most attractive looking kit but who cares if your riding it and not wrenching. Happy trails.

I have two camso 129 that we are using as rental units. So far so good. They work very well and have been reliable. We are also a dealer for them if anyone is interested.

What's is the retail of just a ski ?

It looks like a fast ski , and I would like to find a newer version of what I'm running for a fast ski .

I have a friend who was given a kit to test. He has ridden prob 20+ days in deep siccy pow. He says it kicks a TS in the deep. He said you can stop on a hill and the track just stays on top and you can keep going. The track is what makes the Camso work so well. Its nothing else. The kit is a little to be desired with its chunky plastic design and steel frame. Its heavy, Yamaha of the sport is a great analogy. Nice and cheap which is a big plus for many. But the track is the money.

Its almost a unfair advantage really because Camso can dictate what other kits can and cant have as far as track design. You will see Composite(from Russia with love) enter the track market more and more over the next while especially if TS, Yeti, Mototraxx and the others cant have what they want. Its dirty pool imo. Sit back and let everyone else do all the work and then capitilize on the fact you hold the key to the performace piece. Brilliant really ha ha

Now that is funny. I have been after them to build the Peak track for snowbikes. They always said they would consider it when there is more interest in that market. By building a kit they may improve on the interest.

It's true. The track is really really good. Especially in the deep, but its excellent on hard stuff, too. I put a Camso setup on my KX5 this year and just have about 14 hours on it, but can already see a big improvement over the TS. When I saw the track I just had to try it! So far I don't have too much negative to say about it.

Pretty funny, Some one is given a free kit and raves how good it is ..lol.... I,m not discrediting the kit , Just very funny,,

Well like anything else it's a patent... Ts does not let people use their proprietary stuff? But that truck would have to be made for a dual rail set up anyways.

My friend is a straight shooter and he snowbikes 100days a season. I get what your saying but this isn't the case here. If he says its good its good. If he thought it was junk i would of posted the same. He has ridden all the kits and we talk about all the issues. Nothing really funny about it. Only complaint was the ski at the beginning but they modified the wing i believe. Better but not perfect. Track is the piece that makes it work. If you actually look at the track you can see why it works in the deep.

I like the "Yamaha of the snowbike world" analogy. The Camso, like a Yamaha, is well engineered and strong, works good, but is kinda heavy. The only difference is that you can feel a Yamahas weight when you ride. And I honestly cant feel this Camsos extra weight. The skid doesnt seem to hold an ounce of snow cuz its plastic, so I think thats helpful in real world weight. Up until now I have only cared about deep snow performance, but this monorail thing has made trail riding a blast, too. It really feels more like a wheel than a traditional two rail skid. I'm gonna pile up the hours on this thing this winter, and see if I can wreck it and find its weakness. I have totally enjoyed my Timbersleds and have racked up hundreds of enjoyable mountain hours on them, but have no brand loyalty to them or anything else, meaning I will be honest with my findings.

They need to make kits for Beta's.....

They have them, for some reason they do not show up on the Camso website. Just have your dealer contact WPS and tell them you want a kit for a Beta. I think they fit all the Beta's 2013 and up.

Well, damn, guess I'm running out of excuses then! LOL. Good to know, guys. Thanks!!

So this kit sounds pretty legit due to the track and price.

Seriously though....who the F designed that tunnel? the black plastic part is fine but the aluminum bottom part looks horrible. That square tube along the bottom looks like it's off a folding lawn chair.

Anyways....sounds like the track is the ticket in the deep.....any word on the ski performance?

I have ridden the snot out of mine for the last five weekends and the thing is a tractor i would also say that the ski handles much better on the trail than a timbersled, not major difference in the deep stuff. Not to thrilled that there is no gas tank system out yet.

I used the mountain addiction summit XP 15.5" rails on my Camso with some aluminum plates I made to extend. The small bag and small jug fit perfect in the plastic Camso well. If a guy could get longer rails from mountain addiction, you could fit small bag and the big jug.
