Camoplast extreme or peak 2.5 which is better

My recommendation for a "Swiss Army Knife" kind of do-it-all well track for your sled would be the 9175M with 7 tooth drivers to give good clearance... the 2.5" tracks can use the clearance. It is a 3" pitch track and lightweight.

Check out this thread for a description of the "New style Challenger"

you can buy a track break, to break the fiberglass on the edge of the track. or easily can be made. youtube it

mountain horse do you think the seven tooth is best wih the 2.5" paddle and 3" pitch. 8 tooth will be too big?

Yep... 8tooth 3-pitch is too big.. I tried it... I run the 7 tooth with this and use stock gearing for a good ratio... 19/41 if you want to gear down a hair further from the stock 20/42.

The 7 tooth PC Avid drivers run a lot smoother than the old style that rode on top of the track clips (like the wahl drivers)... Just make sure that you have the drivers pressed on accurately and that the teeth and nubs are centered... and they have minimal vibration... Great setup.. The 9174/75 tracks require a power claw style driver as pointed out in the link above.

DO NOT Break the rods in the track... this comes directly from Camoplast...
It will ruin your track over the not too long term and will void the warranty

One guy I ride with bought a nytro with 180 kit on it and had the peek track, and would just spin out. Junk. 3 days later he had the 2.5 extreme.(9175) and was night and day better. Not the same sled but just letting you know.

7 tooth drivers

MH, how much does the 7 tooth drivers gear you down? I thought I saw a chart on this before.
Thanks.

Your buddies track on Nytro is it the stock Yamaha version of the Peak Yamaha calls it the accent I believe?? Reason I am wondering I am running the 9180m track on my Turbo Viper which is the hard durometer Peak and it is flat out hooked up and I have to run my K-mod in 3 position to keep ski lift down. My T-Nytro has 2.5 CE track works very well that I am able to run softer suspension settings and still keep ski lift down, works better for boondock riding having softer setting but still able to slay a chute and not have sled come over backwards. I am thinking for my 270 Viper that Peak is two aggressive in certain snow conditions and I am considering switching to CE.

My buddie has a 270 Nytro that has the stock yammie version of peak that is not as aggressive as my peak. when I roll paddles with my fingers his track is a way softer durometer than mine causing them to roll under and not hook up as hard.

I'm curious on this too. Going from a 2.86 to a 3" pitch will gear you up and then dropping a tooth gears you down. Does any have the math on this ? Is it essentially 2.86"X8t=22.8 vs 3"x7t=21.
