Camoplast 3-inch track

I know that Camoplast has made a new 3-inch track. Has anyone out there used this track and what are you thoughts on the track?

I will let you know , i just ordered one for my turbo apex ,going from the 2.5x162 extreme to the 3x162 extreme , was toded its going to be about the same differents going from the stock Mav to the 2.5x162 extreme .

Im running one on a modded RT and i love this track, seems to hook up in most snow conditions quite well. It weighed another 5 pounds compared to my 162x16x2.25 ported stock track and i lost 5-10 kph when climbing when i went to the 3". It was well worth the money.

Rode with 3 of them last sunday. I ride a 174x16x2.5 and the 3" track is far better. I was turning 45-47 mph track speed with the conditions we had and they were turning about 43-45 mph. About 2' fresh snow ( sugar though ). If I went 20 yards higher they would go 40. They could kick my butt :(

I've been running a 3" camo extreme on my Apex all year and so far I am very pleased. So far it is holding up very well and the performance has been great. :beer;

Was the other 174 or 162

Dootimes, was I riding with you? I was riding with 3 174x3's as well. 04 Vert. Escape 800, 09 xp 800, 03 Vert Escape. I rode both the 04 VE and 09 xp and compared them to my 04 VE 159x2. The 3" hooks up so well it's unreal! If you consistently ride hard pack spring cond. and all you're worried about is seeing who can put the highest scratch on the hill then I would say the 174x3 isn't for you as track speed is decreased. But if you ride deep powder (which most of us try so hard to find) where track speed doesn't matter then most definately the 3"! If somebody out of your riding party buys a 3" I guarantee it won't be long until everybody has one.

Good Info

Thanks for the information. Here in Flathead valley Mt, we really have not had much powder yet. Just a solid (solid) base.

I talked with several guys indirectly about the 3 inch track, but all replies were based on riding on the hard pack.

I enjoyed hearing the comments about riding in deep powder, the best riding. That was really what I was wondering about. How much better does the track preform in endless deep powder.

How much have people been paying to do the chaincase conversion?

Thanks

162x16 or 174x16 , how did you get it to fit , dropping driver size or going with avid extended cchain case .

From what we have seen on turbo sleds, it really doesn't make any difference when climbing. Although it may slow down track speed some. It looks like low speed cruising in deep snow and trees is where it shines.

I got a 08 XP with a 3" 162. 19/49 gears. When I am climbing I get about 38mph track speed at 8100rpm. Conditions were heavy settled snow steep enough to hold the skis off the snow for 200 yards. Does this compare to the speed you guys are getting? I love the track so far but I think it will really impress me in early conditions next year.

Yes, That was me. Brian

what gearing? and what kind of track speed?

Robbie from avid products with his extended chain case and 8 tooth drivers and 19/49 gears runs in the mid 40's mph track speed. He has a 09 everest with the 174x3" and a slp pipe. He said that he could not tell any diff with the pipe. Just some weight loss.
