Calling M1000 Turbo Owners-

I am in the market for a Turbo for my M1000. I have spent hours looking at all the threads and manufactures web sites, but no amount of information (or hype) substitutes actually seeing the product work.

So… I would like to ride with as many owners of TM1’s as possible (not asking to ride your sled, just wanting to watch it perform and get a closer look at the system.) I have owned a boosted sled in the past and have a good working knowledge of the mechanics involved, as well as the problems that are inherit with this type of modification- Belts, motor mounts, reeds, piston life…..

I am located in Saratoga Wy. (Snowy Range/ Sierra Madre) And I am more than willing to make a drive (within reason) to meet up. I'm available virtually anytime if given a few days notice.

FYI; I'm an advanced backcountry rider 10+yrs, currently riding a 07' M1000 153" With; PC3, Y PIPE, SNOWPRO INTAKE, head mod, SLP CAN, POWDERCLAW, TUNNEL UPDATE, Custom suspension setup, and lots of little extras.

Thanks in advance-

Ben

Hey Ben,
I know this isn't what you were asking for but I'd highly recommend the Twisted Turbo setup on the M1, simply for the fact that it works and hasn't been finicky for me. I was out west a couple weeks ago and didn't touch the Attitude controller once for our entire trip. Everyday was varying temp and air conditions and it continually ran perfect. Once back home in MN, I can ride around here too with no additional tuning (just need race gas). It literally has been a pull the rope and go system. Others have had good luck with other systems, however this was my (thankfully positive) experience.

You won't regret your decision....good luck!

I have heard/read really good things about Twisted, and it is at the top of my list.

Give shain a call. He is always more than willing to meet up with people for demo rides. 801 668 6344

Calling Shane will be my next step. The biggest reason I want to ride with owners is to see the performance for an average person. As well as getting their HONEST feedback. I have been prowling through every M1T thread and post for months and most of them boil down to bashing and bs. There is no substitute for actually seeing something first had.

I guarantee that the owner’s/ builder’s of every manufacturer have perfectly tuned machines; after all they designed the system.

The reason I’m wanting to turbo is that I would love to buy one of the new cats(depending on what it is,) or a Polaris Pro. . . . .But I have just gotten married and bought a house so I cannot justify spending $12-$14k on a new sled- to my wife:face-icon-small-win

I own my 1ton outright and investing $6-$7k into it is a lot easier for me to swallow/not end up in the doghouse.

And I know that I would probably be safer getting a M8 and turboing it, but I really love the setup of my 1000, and after selling my sled buying another, setting it up the way I want it, and then turboing it I will probably have just as much invested as I would buying a new 2012 sled.

I am not looking for advice on setups I have done my homework on the different offerings, and FULLY understand the pro’s and con’s of Turboing a sled. A few years ago I owned a Tapex and a Tphazer, both were on the boondocker system. TApex ran great and climbed anything, just couldn’t do much but hammer the hills on it. TPhazer was fun in the trees and climbed with my N/A M1000, but the motor detonated and I paid for the rebuild.
