C3 PowerSports unveils new MAXTRAK 2.5

get a trim

good looking tracks. Good place to start from, trim the lugs to fit your kit and chain and brake disc. You end up with a 2.346 lug height or what ever, you will be dazzled.

After having 4 tracks on my bike, every lug height was an improvement, every step up in lug stiffness was an improvment, single ply ported 2.5 144 is the best so far. I am sure this track in a 136 would be better than what I have run the last two months..............so.

CATSLEDMAN1, You are correct on the height of the lug, we have tested and cut down many tracks to fit before we ordered this one. We have profiled, lightened, tried different lug combinations, heights and durometers.

Each has its advantages and disadvantages. The goal was to come up with the best of both worlds, or what we thought would be. It seems that we always have to ride a lot of trail to get to the alpine. But the good news is we can ride the edge or work through the trees.

We leaned towards a track that would work better in the powder than on the trail, though the trail manners with the profile and the soft edge give this track great handling.

The lug is similar to the Challenger X3 design, and the style. I agree that a stiffer lug works better on the trail and in the hard packed ditches and in the spring, though we also found that no matter where we ride on our bikes, or what season, we are in the powder, or at the least the un-tracked snow.

The track can be easily trimmed, and we could trim the tracks for anyone who wanted, it would take about 1/2 an hour. You might have given us a new idea, custom trimmed tracks. What do you think? We have the tools, and it is easy...

Thanks

what is the lead time on getting a track? U have plenty in stock or are u selling out of them rapidly?

Hi dirt rebel...We have a few hundred of them in stock ready to go!

One of our goals is... we will not advertise a product until we have it in stock, and we have ridden it, others have ridden, we have tweaked it and, we are happy with the product completely. The track has been out there on the snow since November, plus we rode as close to we could get it all last spring.

We will be back in the office on Monday, or you can order on the C3 website's online store. Can ship Monday.

We also have the 7 tooth 2.86 pitch drivers if you need for the 1 1/16" hex shaft too.

Thanks dude

sick! thanks for the rapid response. Is shipping to the u.s. a problem? I assume not but I have heard nightmares about shipping into canada from this side. Also is there a solution to fitting it onto the 15 timbersled with the reduced clearance? I currently have a 14 st and 15 lt, so thinking of putting a 137 c3 track on the 14 st kit with extensions. or possibly swapping the rails and kits to run the c3 track on the 14 st with the 15 lt rails if they are a direct bolt up swap, to avoid extensions.

Great questions:

Cross border shipping is a few more steps than just shipping across the same country. Under the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) there is no duty charge to ship across the borders, when the good are manufactured in North America, depending on who you ship with/and the service you choose the "broker chargers" could be included. If there is no paper work showing where the products were manufactured there will be a "duty" charge, or they will hold the product until the proper paperwork is received, or the manufacture is verified. That is the basics of it.

When we ship, we have the proper paperwork, and the goods are made in North America, so that speeds up the shipment. We ship everyday other C3 Products such as our SyncroDrive belt drives into the USA.

We are also setting up a US warehouse in Chicago, so in a few months, our parts will ship from there quickly and with out any hassle to all our american customers.

Your new 2015 TS will NOT fit a deeper lug track than 2". I have a feeling the guys at TS who did a great job of getting this sport rocking are coming up with a solution (based on Blasers post above).

We are working on rail extensions now, (we have orders on deposit) but want to test out before we sell. The extensions were a good way from the days of old to add the extra length ( adding 4.5", going from a 120 to a 129" or a 137" to a 145"). The 129" track is a nice fit on the 120" kit now. It gives you one more row of the 2.5" Maxtrack lugs on the snow plus it weighs in at 30lbs.

Your solution is the best one, swap your rails, from your two kits. Run the new Maxtrak on the older kit. Always double check your measurements first. The centre to centre of the suspension mounts in your side plates. I don't have the kits here at my location today or I could give you those. But a few moments in your garage and you should be able to figure it out.

PS. We are in the middle of a new phone system install, new location, new numbers and lines...blah blah... and once we have a phone number I will post that too!

Thanks again

thank you again, I have been doing some measuring in the shop they look the same but with the new rear arm on the 15 I am a touch skeptical but it appears the rail swap would work. maybe mtn muncher or blaser would confirm! :face-icon-small-win extensions are easy for me to make I just don't like the look, lol! If the ts boys are coming up with a solution that would be cool but I have a feeling their solution will be the '16 kit! I'm sure I can come up with an immediate solution be it reducing the 2 kits to a pile of parts and swapping or modding the 15!

Do we need the 7 tooth drivers to install the track and not have clearance issuses. I have the doc performance chain slider so there shouldn't be any issues there but what about the brake rotor I have a 13 st

Grinny,

The DOC chain slider is the BOMB! That works great! It tensions your chain and keeps the pressure over a longer chain span and does not push the chain down as low as the plastic sprocket tensioner.

I think you just gave us a great idea! I will be calling DOC. This will give guys less track interference with the chain. ( see attached pics)

I ran that tensioner for a couple of years on a KTM 450 and then upgraded it to a big bore 520 boon docker turbo, and the slider worked perfect, and is still going.

My brother is running the Maxtrak on his 14 ST and has no issues with the stock chain tensioner, your DOC one gives more clearance. The 7 tooth drivers you have on your 13TS will have the correct pitch 2.86.

That is the best set up for clearing a bigger track there is a picture above posted from Sullcat on Jan the 9th, that shows how much clearance you will have.

The brake rotor might wear a tiny groove in the centre paddle but it will not effect performance.

Thanks Grinny

Valid question.

First. We owe a huge "Thank you" to the guys at TS. They don't know us, but they have evolved an idea that has been in guys brains since the early 50's, trying to get a motorcycle on the snow.

With out Timber Sled we would all be doing something that is not as much fun. I was done riding sleds in the mountains, over and over for the last 25 years, after big bores, turbos' titanium tube chassis from Diamond S ( thanks Scott), Carbon fibre chassis, etc we wanted to try a new way to enjoy our old riding spots.

We started on the bikes with the single ski 4 years ago, and had a blast playing with bikes again...our first love!

But again we have huge respect for Timber Sled. We bought parts from them, bought many kits, sold tons of them to our buddies, and learned lots from them. These kits are NOT easy to build at all. Things look easy from afar, but start designing one, and it is a different story.

The quick facts.

It is called the "YETI" Snow MX,

We are going to release a basic website this Friday with a couple of photo's and some info. We have set up a couple of bikes for the show for some great dealers in Edmonton who want to start building orders for next winter.

We will be releasing technical info on each part of the YETI Snow MX starting next week through till March. Then a much more detailed web site after that.

Our original goal was to build a kit that made your bike feel much more like a bike by saving weight and reducing the HP it requires to drive the kit, allowing more people to enjoy the sport without huge dollars on power adders ( Turbo, Big Bore etc), thus keeping you bike easily convertible back for summer use.

We have completely built and ridden 4 generations of YETI's over the last 19 months, including 12 complete kits we rode all last winter on multiple bikes from a 200KTM that weighed in at 267lbs (with the 13L tank on it, and 3/4 full
120") complete to a 500XCW turbo bored to 610cc, all the while comparing them to the standard today, the Timbersled product. Plus 3 generations past those kits of complete kits we have beat on and tested ( means more complete kits built and tested in spring and this winter).

Here is a pic of our original first generation kit ( and yes we agree it was ugly, but it worked...) it was a 137" model with the 2" challenger track at 12.5 width and it was under 100lbs for the complete rear assembly.

That was a year ago........to be continued..........

Just get rails and go 136 with a round track it still handle better it will take a

turbo to keep up with you then :face-icon-small-hap

I am contemplating selling My SX 136 kit if you are interested with or

without bike.

Looking for a new build :face-icon-small-hap

2015 ST or LT kit will not work with a taller paddle than the stock 2" track. Our past patterns should indicate our future releases.

We really appreciate and respect the guys at C3 and the professional manner they're conducting themselves. That's cool, and we're not going to hijack a thread and discuss our plans. All I will say is good things come to all our customers who wait a bit.
