Bypass throttle safety switch ?

Last year when I put our 07/600ho RMK away for the summer I got some water in the handle bar switches, with my pressure washer. Now I can't get it to run right. It will run as long as I have the throttle open some, but will not idle. Seems like a problem with the throttle safety switch, so I was wondering if any of you Polaris wizards on the site know if the switch can be bypassed to test it out?

Thanks for the tip rp7x, I didn't know that the sled would run with the kill switch unplugged. So I unplugged the switch and started it up, now it would run without holding the throttle open, but was idleing at about 3000 rpm's. I turned the idle down to 1500, plugged the switch back in and it's all good!!! I have no idea why it was idleing so fast, but you saved me a trip to the dealer. thanks again

Disableing the throttle safety switch

You need to disconnect the BLK/RED wire from the throttle safety switch that goes to Pin # 6 on the CDI in order to disable the throttle safety system....I believe this input(called the SOFT STOP) to CDI is compared with the TPS signal from the carb....The service manual and wiring diagrams don't explain this system....Your problem might have something to do with the TPS signal or your idle adjustment

Thanks for the response Daggerboat, I looked through the service manual to find something on this with no luck. I hope that the fast idle speed was the issue, it seems to be and I guess that means that the throttle safety switch was working right. I knew that asking this question on here would help me out, sure hope we don`t lose this with the changes happening to the forum.

Make sure to fix it right, those switches are there for a reason. Better yet, put a tether on it.
