Bush...Thank God he's almost gone!

The biggest question I have is what has GW done to promote your ideas? The only actions of GW's I can relate to is the war on terror and some effort to stop the enviornmental religion. Swampy:(

It's been a good ride, the last 28 years. People need to remember what hunger really is, and joblessness. Then they'd worry less about starbucks closing, and "saving" every stinking square inch of national forest. More about feeding their kids, and getting a job. A world without Prozac, might help the country think clearer.

Now that would be a cool survey. What percentage of Prozac users voted for Obama?

Bush has been labeled an idiot by the left for being less than a deft public speaker but he's no moron, or idiot, or fool. His malapropism's are part of his approach, so he doesn't try too hard to overcome them. Yep he was a C student at a school he probably would not have gotten into if not for family connections, but then if you equate grades with intellect you're not too bright yourself. After all, Einstein and Newton got bad grades too. Bush is a sharp politician...ask his enemies, AND he's managed to thwart 7 or 8 terrorist plots since 9/11.

To the point, the Bush era is a few days from over and history will be the final judge. For those of you citing popularity polls....grow up. Clinton was popular, in fact staying popular was the central theme of his Presidency, and look at the mess HE left us...most of the crap you politically nearsighted tards blame Bush for was set in motion by Billy Jeff.

Rove? You mean the guy W refers to as Turd Blossom? Would that be the same puppet-master that Bush was quoted as having said "That idea's f-ing so bad it must be one of Rove's."

The evidence shows GW Bush was the master of his own Presidency. Yes, he has some things to answer for, but ultimately his legacy will center on the fact that he knocked the islamo-facists back on their heels.

What Obama does or doesn't remains to be seen.

I voted for Bush twice, and I'd vote for him again if I could! At least we can sleep at night without having to worry about being attacked on our land.

I got a feeling when Obama gets in there, were going to see another attack somewhere in the US. I hope I'm wrong!

To the guy who started this thread, your a ***gin retard! :beer;:D

I honestly believe that if you removed political lables and made politicians seel themselves for what they are instead of who they recieve their $$ from our country would be better off........republicans, demoncrats.........libs.......screw all that. my name is ________ and this is what I can do for you. that is how it started, it worked good back then.

if you asked 100 voters who they voted for and why I wonder how many could site the issues that their candiate stood for.......most just look for a D or R and go with it.

there really has been few presidents that have left us sitting very well. heck after all the clinton crap, they still stripped the white house.

anyone that can blame everything on a president is truely an idiot. we still have to overcome congress to make it happen here. its not a dictatorship. sadly congress is in the pocket of the new guy......that scares the crap out of me.

I can remember living under FDR, Truman, Ike. JFK Johnson ,Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, George sr. Clinton and George W and I never remember being afraid of any of them but believe me, OBAMA SCARES THE LIVING POOP OUT OF ME! Think about it.

Well, you wouldn't have to be all that old to remember a time when getting shoes for christmas, meant something. I'm not that old, but my parents definitely remember it.

I don't give Clinton credit for the Dot Com boom or bust, I don't give Bush credit for the House boom or bust, or the oil prices. Bush had some bad stuff happen on his watch, and he pushed the limits of the law and the presidency to address the issues. I don't necessarily agree with the things he did, but hey he was in charge. And, he did promise to make the country safe, in a time when people were panicked. He was successful at that.

Too be honest, things were going pretty good 2 years ago. I know people that were switching jobs with raises, just like back in the Dot Com boom days. The oil prices started the bust. Then the over stretched housing market carried it forward. From what I can tell, Bush did raise the issue of Housing loans. But, most of Congress didn't want to rock the boat.

So, I personally think most decisions of the Bush administration where good. Had Bush stayed out of Iraq, and oil not sky rocketed, I think his opinion rating would have been much higher, even world wide. This financial disaster has been building up to fall down, since the last one in 1970. Think about it, what started the crash, was a bunch of Wal-Mart shoppers buying more than they could afford. From places like China. They didn't stop buying, until the register refused their cards. (this is a metaphor for housing purchases and basic consumerism). Some idiots actually believe you can run an economy, such as the USA's, off service industries. Guess not. If anyone wants to see the people that caused the crash, go look in the mirror. He may be looking at you.

Or just blame it on Bush. It's much easier.

Would agree that too much emphasis for blame or success is put on the President. It is probably much easier to blame that one position then the 538 members of congress.
As far as economic downturn, I would agree with Wade. The President didn't tell people to buy houses they couldn't afford and 42" LCD TV's on credit. I do shop at Walmart though. When their crap is dollars cheaper then somewhere else and you put yourself on a budget...sometimes you have take the lesser of 2 evils.

i am also glad to see this bafoon gone even though I am a major conservative both fiscal and social.

even though his party controlled both houses of congress, he spent like a wildman and was unable to ever take a strong position on the imigration issue purely for political reasons.

The most dissappointing thing though is that he sent Powell to the UN to make a case for WMD in Iraq that was bogus......unforgivable in my book.

Don't forget, Congress, and most of the American people believed it also. So, who's to blame, intelligence, deception, Iraqi ex-pats deceiving us, or the media? Bush was one of the cheerleaders, but the crowd bought it hook, line, and sinker.

Dont be too harsh on him. Everyone on the Intellegence commitee saw the same reports as the president. The CIA, MI6, the Mossad, French Intel., the Russian Intel. agencies all had those weapons there. It wasnt a stretch of the imagination either. Sadam used those weapons against the Iranians and the Kurds. Given his secretive, psycopathic and murderous personality it wasnt a stretch at all.
There was also the matter of the sanctions. They were only hurting the people of Iraq. The poor had it much worse and the situation was desparate. Sadam was doing (Illegal) brisk business with the French,Chinese and Russians, sooo the sanctions had no effect on Sadam. Our so-called partners were scaming on cheap oil deals with Sadam on the backs of the Iraqi peoples. He had tankers of diesel going to Jordan,Syria and Lebanon that stretched for miles.
There was also the matter of Sadam playing chicken with our F-15s in the no-fly zone. He locked up and fired on our aircraft on a daily basis.
All of these were violations agreed upon after the gulf war and Sadam could care less. We looked like the villan because we enforced these sanctions and people of Iraq suffered.
Theres so much more to this story like the UN's food for oil scandle, Clinton had an operation which he killed in the last minute which had a coup talking Sadam out. Sadam put a hit out on President Bush Sr. Sadam DID entertain terrorists in Iraq. He was actively seeking nuclear materials. The torture chambers, the mass graves.. On and on. Weather or not it was time to liberate Iraq from a scum-bag like Sadam and his two lunatic boys...drag Iraq into the 21st century will be decided in history. If the Iraqis dont blow it they'll have a huge advantage over the rest of the countries in the region. With a un-sanctioned (or unsactionable) and healthy Sadam the region would have surely seen another conflict with dire consequences.

all I can say is...

if Al Gore was voted into office back in 2000 in place of Bush, he would still be apologizing to the Taliban or whoever for them Towers falling.

Na, he'd just have launched a couple missiles from a warship, and immediately claimed "mission accomplished". Now, when they had knocked down the Sear's tower, and Dollywood, he'd have gotten really mad, and sent some F18's to bomb an outhouse in Afghanistan. "Mission accomplished". And, when they dumped a ton of radioactive material on New York, he'd pull out the big guns, and sent in the Rainbow Warrior, to put up embarrassing banners on their bridges. Whoooooo. :)

It is quite apparant who was responsible for the housing bust, demos in the house and senate, and only a moron would claim Sadam had no wmd's, he used them against his own people. I have no quarrel with the war on terror.
However you cannot argue he has not spent like a drunken sailor, along with the congress, and that his stand on illegal immigration is nowhere approaching the conservative or the average americans view. Also his allowing of the justice departments railroading of the two border patrol agents and sending them to prison for doing their duty, and then not pardon them when he is pardoning tax evaders etc is completely anti american and morally reprehensible. Swampy:eek::eek::mad:

Nope, can't argue with you on any of those points. The illegal immigrant thing is weird, it doesn't seem to be party politics, more what state your from. And, spending in Washington is out of control.

Regarding the border agents Campean and Ramos who were railroaded by the justice department, which is under the executive branch, and sent to prison for doing their jobs GW here is a partial list of pardons by GW before he leaves office: William Avis III-possession of unregistered firearm and cocaine distribution, Eric Charles Blanke-Counterfitting, Steve Doyle Cavender-conspiring to import, posses and distribute and dispense marijuana, Marie Eppens- conspiricy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute marijuana, Eduviges Duvi Gonzalez-Matsumura-aiding and abetting embezzelment of bank funds- Reed Raymond Prior- convicted of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute convicted and sentenced to life in prison, GW commuted his sentenced. Yet Ramos and Campean remain in prison. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher: "The fact that the president has neglected to free these men from their imprisonment while freeing drug dealers, embezzlers and otherr criminals is insulting to the American people"
So much for the passionate conservative! This one issue alone is enough to totally destroy GW's credibility with me. Swampy:mad::mad::mad::devil:
