Ok, just finished the top end and ran it through its first heat cycle. On my second heat cycle i noticed that its idling at 2200 rpm, it use to idle at 2k or 1.9k. After blipping the throttle it will fall to 1.8k and readjust to 2.2k and settle down to 2.15-2.2k. I thought that my sled detonated a piston due to blow by the rings and old pistons. The higher idle scares me to think I have a air leak. Or is the premix 100:1 and the better compression raising my idle? OR am I just being paranoid? What should a 1000 idle at with the 09 flash?

get a can or ether and spray behind clutch and in recoil to see if the rpms change, then you will know if you have an air leak.

Did you disconnect the throttle cable during the rebuild? i actually like a higher idle on my 1000 it smmoths it out and i dont let my sled idle much except at start up to warm the engine up
