I have a huge amount of admiration for Burandt and is business ideas. However, I do not see myself kicking down $300 a year to watch Burandt TV. I will have to wait till it comes out on Netflix!

This has come up here before. I had thought they made improvements. I really don't know what is new with the Burandt TV. Personally I don't get it.

WAY too costly for me.
I agree he could have made more money selling subscriptions for $30/year to a larger target group. Lost a little respect.

He and his marketing team got him on the pedestal. Because he's a smart businessman and realizes that just being able to ride isn't going to keep the cash flowing after he slows down.

I'm cool with the business decision on the marketing part but would love to see a little more acknowledgement of this sport excelling. Many people are pushing and taking these machines to there capabilities.

I'm a fan of Chris for many reasons. The way he rides is only one. He contributes a lot to the sport at the club level. Sure, many can ride like him but he was one of the guys that really got "boondocking" on the map.

He screwed up with that pricing model. Since realizing that, he has come up with some better price models. I've seen a few of the videos and they are great. If Burandt TV rubs you wrong, don't pay. It's amazing how people come out and hate on it. I'll bet most haven't even seen the videos. He was attempting to break the DVD mold. You have to admit, the DVD's are all getting to be quite redundant.

You don't have to pay money or go far to watch kick *** riders. Chazwildman and Ghostrider are the best riders I've ever seen. Don't believe me? Ride with them. . . free of charge.

Seems lately he's more in it for the love of the money, not love of the sport. Can't blame a guy for wanting to make a buck. Would be a tough road when you take what you love to do and turn it into a business. Sure the line gets blurred when there's big $$$ involved.

Anyone of us would snowmobile for a living if we could. That is one of the worst things I hear anyone say about him. That he is a sell out or is in it for the money. That green stuff puts food on the table.

There are two pricing options available. $7.99/month and $25/month. The more expensive option gets you everything, including a discount in the store. I opted for the $25/month option and so far I feel like it's possibly worth it. We'll see if videos keep coming.

I feel like Burandt has the right idea to capitalize on not only his riding skills but his knowledge, advice, teaching ability and marketing savvy. Remember, the most important thing to succeed in the free market is to provide a product or service that people want or need at a price that they are willing to pay AND makes you a profit. That 'profit' word sometimes gets people riled up...like it's some kind of a bad thing.

But no riding tips for the $7.99 monthly.

Not sure if you have to get a year at $7.99/month?

I also agree... Chris IS entitled to charge a fair price for his expertise... He has only so many years in the game and he want's to provide for his family in the best way he can .. just like the rest of us.... PLUS... his overhead is getting pretty huge compared to wheh I rode with him staying in the double-wide "ranch" in town.

Good on him and I hope he keeps pushing this whole package!!

I bought the suspension on my Pro from Chris and since then he's bent over backwards giving me setup tips and riding tips. Yeah the suspension wasn't cheap but the overall value to me and the amount of enjoyment I've gotten out of the sled and the sport since has been unmatched. Rip on Chris all you want, IMHO he's doing right by me and I'll always be thankful! True there are a lot of fantastic riders out there but very very few have the overall product and working knowledge of aftermarket offerings that Chris has.

Have FUN!

Well put gman086. Chris has put backcountry snowmobiling on the map! Without him we would still like be watching guys hit ramps all day and trying to launch a sled 200'.. pretty refreshing the evolution he brought to our beloved sport. Wish guys would stop being so jealous of what he has made for himself and done with his career. Burandt TV is just another step in a great direction!

Let the invisible hand of the free market decide.

Kudos to CB. If it doesn't work for you, don't buy. If it doesn't for him, he'll have to change the model. Others will/are doing this, the cost of entry if you have a sled and camera already is pretty low.

It was intimated before - he has a narrow window of remaining time to capitalize his knowledge, skill, and fame at this level of exposure. Sure, could be a few more years, but, it like any extreme athlete, it ends. Life happens, injury, better alternatives, bad luck, bad business decision, the reasons are endless. You are yesterday's news. Ring the register while you can. I'm sure poo isn't complaining, either, but there will also be a time when they move past him, too. You can bet he's following this thread!

Your right, he or someone who represents him has been watching threads like this. Since a few topics like this have come up, the second more affordable subscription option has surfaced. It was not there initially.

I am involved in media on the ski side (own/run www.earlyups.com) - CB's move to a paid platform caught my attention. Be interesting to see how it pans out.

In a way ski/bike/sled content is akin to p0rn (wow really snowest? you censor this word?). For the vast majority paying is silly - there is just so much out there. But just like p04n certain "stars" can still eek out a fair amount from a subscription based site...

Supply and demand of content is way out of whack - but until people are unwilling to produce stuff for free - the viewer will have plenty of stuff to view without paying...
