Burandt Matryx Tunnel Bag fell off.....

Anyone experiencing the Burandt tunnel bag for the Matryx falling off? There are many times I've noticed while riding that one side is "unclipped" and I really make sure both sides are fully engaged before riding. Well, yesterday I loaded the sled up on the deck after a day in gnarville, only to see my tunnel bag was no longer there.... Great! Where did I lose it, did any of my group see the last time it was on my tunnel? NOPE!

Well, I unload the sled and headed back up the mountain only to thankfully find it a couple miles up on the trail.

Long story short, anyone else experience this with this bag? The handles aren't terribly easy to squeeze and disengage the locks, but in the steep/deep/trees/rolling over/logs and all that fun stuff, there are a lot of things that can "push up" on the handle and loosen the bags hold one side at a time.

I'm thinking about installing a rivnut in the flat tab above the squeeze handle and installing a thumb screw in that just long enough to stop the handle from "lifting up" inadvertently.

A few guys in our groups have installed screws just into the plastic to hold the tab down.

One guy lost his bag and all his tools.

Crappy deal for sure! I would've lost alot of stuff too.

Glad to know I'm not the only one and on the right track. Maybe I'll skip the rivnut and use a coarse thread screw.

Actually used the same screws from the top center console. (So the torx / spark plug wrench fits them)

Haven't lost the bag but I've broke every extra shovel carrier off. Plastic parts are a joke.
Wait, plastic get brittle and breaks in sub freezing temps? Says Biden😂

@Sheetmetalfab had a great idea. I didn’t have long enough bolts but had these pull ups ones that work great and will get some longer hex ones.

Also, does anybody else’s little clutch tool have the hex head on one end? I know they used to and mine doesn’t, neither do any of my buddies newer sleds. It’d be nice to have one with that hex on there that matches the bolts. I’m trying to use for the tunnel bag and they also match other bolts.

Crap! I reread sheetmetalfabs post and yes, I did forget that the spark plug wrench has the hex that I was talking about on it. But that still doesn’t change the fact that I’m pretty sure that the little clutch tool used to have it on there too.🤷🏻‍♂️

I've seen a lot of Team / Venom clutch opening tools but never one with a torx on it.

You need some Titanium screws for that. 😁

I've definitely found mine released on one side a handful of times.

Either from bumping something while riding or maybe not pushing it down fully into its locked position.

Definitely not a fool proof stock retention system.

Exactly. Same here and would say 98% double check its locked by pushing down hard. There should be a foolproof something to limit this. Probably will try to find a thumb screw maybe. Who knows.

I like taking it off to dry and during transport if for some reason I don’t have my cover on. Like this last ride, my buddies ramp collapsed and crushed his sled into the back of his truck. Needless to say, I let him use my cover.
