Bunch of questions about snowbikes.

On the other hand, I really like my berg570 with efi. My old bike was a ktm525 and had carb ice issues about half the time. Never tried carb heat though.

A buddy of mine has a pretty cherry 07 KTM 525 that he is talking about putting a kit on. How did that bike do for you other than the icing issue?

Any of the race bikes will be a good bike to have. I believe 09 YZ is the first year they turned the motor around in the chassis? The bike is a strong runner but the only drawback is the intake since it's above the radiator in the shrouds of the bike. Some people have reported issues with snow ingestion but I know a couple guys who have modded the box to cut down on the snow intake.

I stuffed my
side plates with red scotch brite then capped off the openings with some timber sled air filter cover material with super glue. I don't see how ANY snow could get in and with that filter material on the outside the snow should just fall off. I hope anyway. It's my first year and it was my solution. ..lol

Lots of bike choices but watch out for the Mountain Horse kits as they are getting very hard to get a hold of. I heard T/S is out of kits for the year already !! So get your kit early next year and let's go rip it up !!

Good luck on your decision. No matter what you'll have fun !

Remember to "snow-check" next spring. Anyone with even a slight interest needs to set $500 aside or give it to your local dealer and be put on a list for the spring program. We have had this situation two years in a row now. People decide not to snowcheck then come fall, all run to their dealer and buy a kit. Pass the word to everybody. Snowcheck your kit next spring, then we will have in-season kits available.
