Building out a 2026 Summit X

Ya, everyone heard it. ;)
It was a BRAND new sled with no miles on it.
At first I thought the paddles were touching.
Just needed to be fine tuned for the day's ride.

Yes this was no criticism against anybody, I enjoyed the video and the insight :) those are demo sleds and maintenance is not your responsibility. But I have seen few people posting about broken chains, and I want to spread awareness about this issue. This whine is not normal, new sled or not.

New updated Hyvo chain is quite heavy duty, it can't be tightened the same way as old chain on non turbos. And after all it doesn't even stretch that much over time. If you hear the whine, its too tight. Eventually plastic slider will wear out and break and the also chain will give up.

My advice is, first loosen the chain all the way. Then start tightening, and when you start to feel slightest resistance leave it there. I mean you can easily tighten it more from this point, but it will be too tight.
If you don't believe me, open the chain case and see it yourself.

I did not.
They only offered me the opportunity to ride the Expert.
The day got squirrely and I did NOT get a chance to ride the Expert on any trails.
So I have no clue if that 32" front end is TIPPY or not on hard pack
While I LOVE riding in the mountains and the trees, the hard cold reality is I ride a LOT of trail miles every single time getting TO and FRO the places I like to play in.
So Trail Behavior is important to me.
What is the new price range of the machine?

🤦🏻‍♂️ sigh, And as far as a chain tension procedure, is the same between the rexnord and the borg warner, they are both chains. Difference is one is called a silent chain for a reason.

Anyway, The Summit X in a 154 NA would be a very interesting sled to have as a low snow sled.

I was comparing it to the X.

Why doo you think that Lynx suspension setup will be better?
I don't know that it will be better. They soak up bumps better. They claim to have worked over suspension to climb up on snow better which was much needed. The ds might be cool. No thanks on re. Great trail sled.

if you can hear the chain whine, its too tight, period. The slider will wear out. I have seen these cases already and more is coming.

Well we all better remove the hyvo chain then and go back to a silent chain to prevent slider wear.
The hyvo has been used since 2020 in the turbo.

Im just trying to educate people. Back in the days I almost broke my chain on my ´21 turbo because of this. They said the whine is normal but of course its not. I have seen few broken chains this season and its easy to avoid.
