Bubbles

So I have R&I'd my engine, but have not started it yet. I also have bled oil lines using bleeder screw. But these bubbles would be too far along the oiler system to bleed, correct? Would they just "clear" when i fire up the engine initially or would this be considered a major dry crank issue? Kinda like my crank the way it is is not melted, lol! (i will add some premix and use the coat hanger trick initially to over oil)

Have you tried pulling the cord a few times and see if it draws the oil into the crankcase. Might pull the bubbles right out.

Oil Lines

Make sure you start it with a pre mix in the tank.

You can try to spin the inside dog with a drill or I rely on the pre - mix, idle it with the oil pump lever wired wide open and it doesn't take too long to see the oil moving through the lines.

The PTO side takes longest as it is the longest one.

I like seeing the oil move, but I guess with a drill you could watch it too and I can monitor the overflow for adding coolant as it draws it down.

Instead of wiring something to the oil pump lever, I took the secondary off, left the primary on, and used a long screw driver to push on the lever. Granted, I did this on an '09 700 so I don't know if this is even possible on a 900. With the engine idling, I could watch the oil fill the PTO line. I also had a 40:1 mixture in the tank since this was on a my newly rebuilt engine
