I broke my dimmer switch now my headlights don't work. Can the dimmer be replaced by itself? I hope nothing else is causing the head lights to not work. Anyone else have this issue?

Do you have a standard model with the controls on the handlebars? If so I've had the headlight button burn up/ break on a 08 600 where it didn't spring back out. When that happened neither the high or low beams would work. A new control assembly and they both worked again. You can't get just the switch individually, it comes as an assembly with the perc, mode/set, handwarmer and headlights button all together. 4 bolts and 2 connectors to replace it. It was about $45 from Polaris.
I have the standard block on my 07 600 Swithback. I called the dealer and he has them separate as a $10 part. He had 4 in stock so that must be a common problem. I will try that first and hopefully fix it. It is acting exactly as you describe.

I believe the 10 dollar part is just the little blue cover to the headlight button as that is able to be removed seperatly. I took the old housing apart and the actual switch part was part of the complete citcuit board in there. If your switch doesn't spring back and forth like it normally does I think you will need the complete assembly.
Thanks, you were right on, I called back to the dealership and talked to the service manager, he said what you did. I took it apart and the switch is in the housing and doesn't work. The button is fine.
