Broken bulkhead engine mount 2011 m8

Getting this mess welded up tomorrow. Hope it doesn't crack again. Thought I would see if others had this issue and how they fixed it.

The rubber bushing was in rough shape.And the new bushing I ordered hadn't come in yet. And it has been snowing like crazy so I decided I would bulk that little rubber bushing up with a piece of aluminum by bolting it to the original mount to get me out for the day. Unfortunately that broke the bulkhead mount because that engine mount was to solid

Had a friend tig weld this mount back on, then plate the top and bottom. Should be strong enough to do its job once again

i'm glad you got it fixed and that you know why it broke . it should be better than ever with all that extra gusting .

I had the same thing happen when I put to stiff of a motor mount in that location. Welded it back on really good and it never broke again. I run the softer motor mount that is supposed to be in that location now.
