Broke crank today

if your top end are good, you can rebuilt with new crank, gaskets, rings, and maybe bearings. Then it will be like a new engine again.

If you are not sure what the problem with your motor. Is it locked up or feel like it has bad bearing? You will have to take it apart and you will find the answer.

I thought the 700 never broke? :drum: LOL You can rebuild the crank, the only problem is you will need to source a new PTO end because polaris does not make the ends anymore. I ended up buying a cheap crank off ebay that had bad bearings, I sent it to J&J to have rebuilt. Now if they brake the rod pin then they can just press in a new one. Polaris still makes PTO ends for the 800 crank but not the 700.

Here you go http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polaris-Xc-...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item256d6defe1

its $69 have them send it directly to http://jjmachineryonline.com/snowmobile/snowmobile-crankshafts/polaris
only $325

Call Jeremy first, sometimes he has a usable core or a PTO end.

Here's another recommendation for JJ Machinery. Bought my 800 crank from them, have about 1200 miles on it so far.

There was a post on here a few weeks back about 700-800 issues. No one had ever heard of a crank failure on a 700 except the 2 times mine did it. Any way, You should really have the cases checked to make sure that it is not too loose. Also, I got my new crank from J&J machinery on e-bay. They treated me good.

Blowing a belt tends to lead to crank failure. After blowing 2-3 of the 1080 belts I switched to the 1115 and it lasted for thousands more miles. Of course the crank finally went after 9k miles though.

I hear the 048 cat belt is a very good replacement for the expensive 115 just a thought.

My 700 crank broke this year also with less than 700 miles on it.

A new SPI piston kit is about $120 for both sides. I can't imagine taking the engine apart and freshening it up without replacing the parts that work the hardest.

Crank broke just inside of clutch on 04 700 rmk any know. Issues with crank or causes of failure. Replace or rebuild motor? Thanks

On INDY Dan's website, he's got a 700 complete lower end for sale for around $ 500 complete.

Bolt on your pistons+ jugs and go riding

Hope this helps
