Brock Lesnar and the UFC

What do you think about this guy coming over from that wrestling entertainment stuff? Myself, I always wanted to see one of the come over to the UFC or WEC and either get KO'd or choked out. 85 seconds in his debut he was done!!!:D He did come out at the bell like a maniac though.

he did have a very good college wrestling career. that was his first fight, and he shouldn't have gone much longer against Mir. with some time and GOOD training, he MIGHT make an upper mediocre fighter!!!!!!

He needs to learn how to fight on his back if he wants to compete. He came out swinging, but as soon as he went down, he tapped out within a matter of seconds. Didn't he use to be a lot bigger in the WWF?

It said he had to drop weight to get to 265.

Your Boy Friend said you don't fight when he gets you on your back either.

He will have his hands full with Heath Herring. He was pounding on Mir, but as big as he is he didnt seem to know how to put it all together and thought he was in another wrestling match. Was pretty obvious he didnt know what to do about a fighter with good submissions. I still think he should fight Kimbo Slice neither one of them are too impressive in mma. Id rather watch the women fight then these two. Gina Carano is fun to watch and is easy on the eyes. Had to watch American Gladiator championship last night just to see her as the gladiator 'Crush'.

In fairness to Brock, his last fight was against Frank Mir who was a former title holder. It's not exactly like they're asking him to fight nobodies in hopes of generating hype like they're doing for Kimbo Slice.

I think there's a real chance Brock will lose again this weekend. Heath Herring has been around the block and will probably give him all he can handle.

It'll be fun to watch that's for sure :beer;

I think Lesnar has a shot to be really good. He has the type of explosivness and athleticism you can't teach. He took down Mir like a ragdoll and manhandled him, right up to the point where he got caught. He's gonna have a real test with Heath Herring, though. Herring is a really good striker and I don't think Brock has ever been hit hard. Remember Herring planted Nogiera on his arse with a high kick, but couldn't finish him off. But, he does have knockout power.

Kimbo Slice on the other hand, is supposed to possess "incredible" stand up, yet couldn't drop James "Glass Jaw" Thompson. Slice is gonna fight Brett Rogers next...

Rogers by total destruction.

You gotta learn more about him...

The WWE stuff was just a section of the road for him. He's much more accomplished in combat than that crap. He's been in the trenches before WWE.

True... Very true! Hating WWE with a passion comes natural to me. Kind of like disliking NASCAR. I do hope that he sticks around for a long time and developes his talents more on the MMA level. That guy is exciting to watch at the very least.

i would like to see him stick around for a while, bu tit won't be for too many years, as he's already in his 30's i believe!!!!!!! pretty late to be getting into MMA, with no real background other than college wrestling!!! hopefully it works out for him, i think he could be exciting to watch!!!!!!!!

if he can put it all together in a year or so, there won't be a heavyweight that will be able to handle him. That guy is built like a brick chit house and threw mir around like he was a little girl. But he's got to learn how to fight smart too

I too believe that he has all the skills to be a top 10 MMA heavyweight. He has the same wrestler bad habits as my buddy Rob Yundt (who is 0-2 in the UFC), wrestlers fall back to what comfortable in a fight and that grabbing a dude, taking him down, and holding him there. It just so happens that is exactly what good BJJ guys want. See Lesnar vs. Mir.

I personally think Lesnar will walk through Herring. He does not do well against guys who put the pressure on him (see his pride fight against Mirko or his UFC debut against Obrian). Brock is a world class athlete with alot of heart and brains, i think he learned alot from the Mir fight and will come back a much better fighter.

And while i really like John Fitch, i dont think its gonna be pretty against GSP (who i cant stand). GSP is fighting pretty darn well right now and showed how he has no problem with wrestlers against Koscheck and Hughes.

The one fight i am really excited about though it Huerta vs. Florian. They are both fantastic fighters and are exciting to watch. I am picking Florian via ground and pound in the 3rd.

When he was 20lbs heavier in college, you should have seen him wrestle at 285. He was a fargin BEAST. I never saw him during the 'rassling years so I can't compare that.

Brock is a mad man but agreed that he needs switch his style and add a few more facets to his arsenal. He did manhandle Mir but as soon as he got his foot caught it was all over.

I'm still bummed that I missed the Uriah Faber vs Jens Pulver fight.
