Brand new 2015. Poo rookie. What to check?

Have a brand new 2015 in the garage. Can't believe I own poo, but am fired up for the chassis. What do I need to check to dial it in? I bought from a new dealership, and I questions setup big time, being from the flatlands. Sorry if this is repetitive. I've been out of the loop for a minute.

The sleds come from the factory clutched for 6-8000 feet so check for that. I already turned the pump up 2.5 turns on my 2015. Lot of people venting their oil caps. I don't think I will we'll see. I added a skinz float plate and mountain addiction can next on the list is tether. Maybe a super q can if I'm feeling spendy. I also set my ski stance to 39" as dealer set it for 40". Have fun!

Factory specs for clutching flat land, and hi altitude sem to work pretty damn good. But, i know you will be tinkering with it anyways, its how your wired! Lol. I turned my oil pump up also on my 12. 2300 miles so far, zero problems. Rip it and ride it!

Congrats Breeze! Been running OEM 10-68 weights in mine since day one and it runs fairly well. Good thing you posted this here cause those Cat guys would have said, Junk Drive Shaft, Belt drive is junk, Carbon fiber overstructure is junk, motor - let's not go there! We have started to drill holes and press in Roll Pins on our A-Arms to keep them from coming apart if you tag a tree and unbond one!

I have 2,000 miles on mine and it has run flawless so far. I am under warranty through this season. After however I will drop in an RKTech top end kit at minimum. Pretty casual miles though so yours may not last as long! :face-icon-small-sho

Warm it up good and leave your temp gauge showing all the time.

Congrats Breeze! See you when the snow flies!

I'm looking forward to pointing this thing across some steep slopes. I'm going to do everything in my will power to leave this thing alone, and trade it on a 2016 come spring. I'm mostly just wondering if there are any basic setup issues that are easily missed by the dude slapping skis on, and folding up the bars in the back of the dealership. For "mods" all I will be doing is a tether, and some shiny bouncy springy things in the skid, and on the front end.

I'm going to leave the oil pump where it is, and let Polaris deal with it.

Cooksend - See you when the pow flies. Watch what you say about cat guys! I felt kind of dirty watching the dealership load a polaris in the back of the truck, but god damn, that chassis is sweet! Am I allowed to be a cat guy that rides Polaris??? I guess im going to find out first hand what is junk and what isnt.... lol

Like what others said before... 10-68s for the flats and just letter rip. Make sure your dealer premixed your first tank of fuel for break in and that your sled is set in the 10% ethenol mode for break in. Verify track is tight, skis are tight, that theres oil in your chaincase if you have an RMK/Assault instead of a Pro (my bro-in-law has his come from the factory w/o it once) and your suspension is setup for your weight... thats pretty much it for setup from the dealer... Browse over your owners manual for how to change settings or set up the suspension and ride it like you stole it :face-icon-small-coo

Check your savings account, make sure you have enough saved for gas & oil to ride every weekend for as long as you have snow! Seriously once you start riding the thing you're not going to want to get off it! Sleds are spot on out of the crate.

It was tough enough hanging on your back door last year and now this! :face-icon-small-sad Riding a Pro was my unfair advantage! This year it looks as though it will be I holding the camera! :thumb:

Heck , my screen name is Catfreak but my last two sleds were Pro's.

If you do nothing else let this sled come to temp before riding it. 120* minimum (normal operation temp is 125*)

Keep it clean and lubed and ride it.

Hell, paint it green if it makes you feel less guilty
