bouncy ride

got an 04 800 summit with 151 track. its very bouncy in the bumps, it tries to throw me over the handle bars like a buckin mule when i hit a whoop doin more than 10 mph. ive adjusted the springs about every way i can. do i have a blown shock or is this just the nature of this machine?

thanks

kind of the nature of the thing. You can do some adjustments on the spring tension on the back of the suspension. There are 3 settings. Use the tool in the tool kit to turn them down. Next, get yourself a fox clicker, best shock around, costly though. Check your springs first. If you are lighter than the spring adjustment allows for, you can get lighter springs also.

It is possible that the shocks are bad. When they do go bad the sled rides like you are sitting on a diving board. To test, get the sled on a flat level surface (garage or driveway) and press the back of the sled down. It should return somewhat slowly. You can also adjust the rear spring block for rider weight (soften the springs).

Hope this helps.

What Colby said. Rear, rear shock probably needs a rebuild. They can turn into pogo-sticks when this happens.

cool, thanks for the advice. i was about ready to pull the trigger on a new shock till sum1 said rebuild.....is that easy and effective? stock shock is only couple hundred bucs.
