Bought new 12 hold over, need new boards

I went with Madsigntist's EZ Boards at 1/4 the cost of Airframes. Will post back results after I've gotten plenty of seat time. Airframes were not an option on my budget and everyone who's used the plastic inserts seem to think they work excellent so I'm hopeful!

I have really enjoyed my WRP boards and Seat. My seat is 2" taller and I love it. I am 6'1" though.

As you can see I dont have any build up on the boards in this picture. LOL

Build your own airframes. (some tools/ time required) I have 20 bucks in tube and 80 in powdercoat. Pretty cheap

you got any more pics? what did you make those out of and what are the dimensions on the tubes?

B&M boards for sure

They should work good. They are airframes with a different cross pattern. Could not go wrong with either ones.

I used 1/2 inch sch 40 alum pipe 6061. Its about 13/16 od.

 

[B&M Fabrications]

Ours are 1" outer rails and 3/4 inner tubes. All 6063- T52 aluminum tubing, tig welded of course. Powder coated to the color of your choice. All hardware needed is sent with them.

Another vote for the B&M boards, I love mine!!

Easy to install and solid constuction!


Biggest plus was not having to wait months, ordered them and two weeks later they were on my sled.

the only real reason i want to put new boards on is to get them wider. B&M is nice but no wider than stock. i put holes in a set of pants and my tunnel and gas tank are nicked to hell cuz my legs are always so close to the tunnel. never had any of these issues with my xp, but i love the ride of the pro.

They are wider....just not much wider. 3/4" wider with the same taper back. But surely not sail boards hanging back there. Ha.

hm, that might be enough. how much wider are the airframes or diamond s than stock?
